Review What are the 3 layers of soil Very Good What is topsoil? Very Good! What is subsoil? Very Good! What is bedrock? Very Good! B. Unlocking of Difficulties Show them some words and Ask them to give the meaning (erosion, humus, people ) Pupils activity Good morning teacher Were fine teacher

The three layers of the soil are topsoil Subsoil and bedrock Topsoil is the uppermost layer of the soil Subsoil is made up mostly of clay, sand and pebbles Bedrock is made up of solid rock

Erosion- moving away of soil Humus- material resulting from the decay Of plants and animals which forms The organic part of the soil People- group of person

C. Lesson Proper Our Lesson for this morning is how Soil erosion affects the soil and living People, but before we will start our Lesson we will sing first a song: Planting rice Planting rice is always fun Always fun is planting rice(2X) Planting rice(2X) is always fun Always fun(2X) is planting rice

Everybody will stand and sing

How important the soil to us? Okay, we will do an activity. This will Show how important the soil to us and This will show how erosion affects to us. Activity no.1 Get a big bottle. Pack the bottom Layer about 4cm high with solid Rocks, this will represent the parent Material . Pack the second layer with soil about 4cm high which is lighter and more Compact. This represents the subsoil. Put loose broken pieces of rocks , humus And some non-living things on the upper Most layer. This is the topsoil. The profile Is now formed. Fill the bottle with water and shake. Let The water stay undisturbed, then pour The water into an empty container. What is the appearance of the water? Very Good! Which layer is affected by flowing water? What do you think happens to the layer? Which of this layer is good for plants? Have you heard the landslide of Leyte? Many People died, animals died. The soil Covered the school, houses as well as the Ricefields;Guinsaugan Leyte was affected Because their subsoil is more on sedimentary Rock and their topsoil is not compose of humus So when the rain came, soil easily erode, thats How we are affected if theres a soil erosion Erosion by wind and water remove the soil Which is good for plants. When too much fertile Soil eroded there will be less crops and therefore Less food and of course less food. What will happen to the people

We can plant rice to the soil and Give us food to eat

Change of color, it has soil particles The uppermost layer or the topsoil The uppermost or the topsoil is Loose. The topsoil Some will say yes or no

People will be hungry. It Affects our income The animals will die, there Will be less food for the Animals

What will happen to animals if there will be Less plants and grass? Very Good!

Activity no.2 Pupils will group into three Group 1- the affects of soil erosion to the plants Group 2- the effects of soil erosion to the animals Group3- the effect of soil erosion to the people Procedure: 1. Let the pupils enumerate and list down Of soil erosion to the plants , animals and plants 2. Let them report their work and discuss

Generalization: Erosion by wind and water removes the soil Which is good for plants. When too much water Is eroded there will be less crops and therefore Less food. Evaluation. 1. Which layer of the soil are most affected by erosion? 2. What is very important for plants , animals and people 3. ________removes the nutrients and minerals of the topsoil which is good for plants 4.
