I choose this article because it broaden new horizon and give new point of view that IQ not the only one factor for determining individuals success in life. Emotional Quotient (EQ) also has an important role for this. With this EQ we can control our emotion and become more confident to face any problem. 4. Explain briefly in four or five sentences what the article is about. Article titled Emotional Intelligence talks about emotions that can make someone success depends on self control. In this article talks about one fascinating book, the title is Emotional Intelligence. One of the highlights of the book is an experiment that prove emotional stability is more important than IQ called Marshmallow Challenge. In this experiment, a kind man gave a marshmallow to four-year-old children. Then, he told them, if they want to wait him until he back from an errand, they will get two marshmallow from him. Twelve years later, the same children were tested again. Children who wait for the man to get two marshmallows were clearly more socially competent, because they can manage themselves, dont surrender too soon, and have willing to face any challenges. 5. The writers message or purpose in writing this article is to tell us that IQ is not the only one factor for determining individuals success in life. I agree with the writer that we have to develop our EQ beside IQ (Intelligence Quotient) for a better future. If we dont develop it, we will have a serious problem, because we cant survive in this world without other people to help us.
