Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio Greeted by Occupy Tucson Protesters
(Maricopa County) Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio was in Tucson Wednesday afternoon to give a speech when the press conference was shut down by a group of protestors. Occupy Tucson protesters, which were started because of the Occupy Wall Street movement has turned from a wave of anger towards Wall Street against Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio. Recently during the Occupy Phoenix protests, Maricopa County Sheriff Deputies found documents encouraging people to become Cop Killers by shooting government officials who violate their civil rights. The protests initially targeting the corporate world has locally become more about what is perceived as wrongdoing by law enforcement and the Sheriffs illegal immigration policies. Sheriff Arpaio says these protesters are not going to stop me from doing my job, I will continue to arrest illegal aliens. These people wont stop me from traveling to Tucson or anywhere else just because people dont like me enforcing the laws.
