IMPORTANT POINTS ABOUT PROCESS

1. While deciding the allocation for a particular student, the following will be the rules applied a. The first criterion for allocation of a particular course is the concentration in the relevant functional area. The concentration is the total number of elective credits taken by the student in the functional area. For the purpose of elective allocation, a concentration of 5 and more would be considered as 100% concentration (these students are categorized under BAND 1) in all functional areas other than Business Environment and Strategy (where concentration of 4 or more would be considered BAND 1). Also, concentration of 4 and less (3 or less for Business Environment and Strategy) would be considered same (these students are categorized under BAND 0). b. If the concentration in the functional area is equal between any two students, the bidding points for the course, as provided by the student, will be used as the second criterion. c. In case of a clash even after the above two rules have been applied, the CGPA of the student will be used to determine the allocation. 2. Course of Independent Study (CIS)/ Dissertation a. You are allowed to take maximum of two CIS courses in term V and VI (such that not more than one course is taken in term V) in lieu of the electives offered. (please refer the PGP manual for details)

b. You can drop a subject in any area subject to the following conditions i. No subject gets dropped because the number of PGP students in that subject goes below 20. ii. No section gets dropped because the number of PGP students goes below 20. iii. You cannot drop a subject that reduces your concentration in the area to a level that is below the cutoff for any subject in the concerned area. c. Students opting for CIS will have to select 15 credits in the elective allocation system. The decision of which subject to drop is taken in term IV. Please plan your electives accordingly. 3. Compulsory course (Strategic Management-II) would not count towards the four courses required for a concentration in the area. 4. CIS/Dissertation would not count towards the number of courses required for a concentration area. 5. Workshops would not count towards concentration in an area. 6. Additional Credits/ non credits courses a. You are allowed to take a maximum of two additional credits over and above 15.5 credits (15 electives and 0.5 compulsory). b. The allocation of these credits will be done manually after the elective allocation round.
