Free Breathing 2D-PACE-Applications. Tim-TRIO,
0.9 x 0.9 x 0.9 mm3, PAT *3.
Clinical Role:
1. Better diagnosis by providing more
information:
a) 3D spine acquisition to evaluate
complex spinal deformities and
cord adhesions if any to plan
treatment options. If the cord is
tethered, it is important that the
surgeon releases it before
straightening the bony deformity
(Figure 1, A–C).
b) Excellent free breathing 3D MRCP
with navigator-based SPACE
(Figure 3).
c) 3D pelvic imaging for detailed
oncologic staging – e. g. Prostate
Cancer and for endometriosis
(Figure 4).
d) High resolution PD weighted Fat
Sat images of the knee. Figure 4: Colon carcinoma with T2 W SPACE; measurement in coronal
orientation with 1 mm isotropic resolution. Good delineation of the fascia
(arrows) due to minimal partial volume effect.
2. Better workflow and speed: Courtesy of Dr. Schlemmer, Dr. Lichy, University Tübingen, Germany.
e) T2 W 3D imaging done with
SPACE. Speed image acquisition
with volume brain acquisition
particularly in pediatric cases.
Multi-planar reconstructions done
later for reviewing details of the
case (Figure 2).
f) Combining iPAT, partial fourier
and high turbo factors make faster
isotropic 3D scans possible.
