Daily welding record for fabricated and installed (welded) supports shall be kept. All welding shall be carried out in accordance with approved welding procedure specification. Welding shall be carried out by a qualified pipe welder. Spring supports shall be installed with the spring locks in place. Locking plates or pins shall not be removed until hydrostatic test and insulation of the piping system has been completed. All dummy support end plates shall be welded on site. The location, level and dimensions of concrete supports or bases for piping, machinery and associated equipment shall be in accordance with Approved for construction drawings Where any supports or bases are required to be cast on the top of existing concrete floor slabs or foundations, the existing concrete must be broken out sufficiently to fully expose the original steel reinforcement so as to obtain a proper bond with the additional concrete and steel reinforcement. All support or bases must be tied to the structural concrete with vertical and horizontal reinforcement. During installation of plant and equipments, the pockets of the foundation bolts shall be filled with an approved high strength non-shrink grout (standard cements/sand grout). The form work material shall have no surface defects. The formwork shall be rigidly constructed, true to the shape, alignment and dimensions shown on the Approved working drawings The quantity, sizes, form, positions and spacing of all steel reinforcement bars shall be in accordance with the Approved drawings. All cutting and trimming of bars and wires shall be done cold with the use of manual or power operated cutters.
