KASANGGA ASSEMBLY
THE KASANGGA ASSEMBLY Kasangga is a Tagalog term that means comrade. In YFC, we believe that as brothers and sisters we are comrades in Gods Army. We want to establish a strong bond among the youth specially among the leaders to unite the whole province and make it an army for Christ. The kasangga assembly is is the venue where leaders gather and inspire one another. This is where we pass on the mission, vision and directions the community wants to take on. It is a place where the leaders are formed and empowered to serve God. The kasangga assembly will also be the model of how YFC assemblies should be. THE MEMBERS OF KASANGGA The kasangga assembly is exclusive for all leaders and coordinators of the province. Sector Level: all Cluster Heads and Cluster Coordinators up. Cluster Level: Chapter Heads and Chapter Coordinators up. Chapter Level: Household Heads and all Coordinators attend the Kasangga All High School Program Volunteers and High School Core Group All Campus EXECORE (all officers) All Provincial Core Group Members TORCH Household Heads Provincial Campus and High School Couple Coordinators All Coordinators per Campus and High School

THE KASANGGA MANUAL In the past, the activities in the Kasangga Assembly were brainstormed by the Provincial Core Group, and many areas had difficulty of looking for talk outlines, and other things that will be used every assembly. This Kasangga Manual provides a list of possible activities that would guide the provinces to achive the Goal of the assembly. It contains: 14 different activities that caters the growing thirst of YFC leaders to holiness and empowerment for about two years Each activity has its objectives, materials needed, suggested creative/s, other components and schedule to make the planning of the assemblies more easy.

An expanded talk outline for each activity Note: there are only 14 talks for the reason that every year, there are about five months that the Kasangga Assemblies were cancelled because of: International Leaders Conference, Pre- Conference, Provincial Conference, CFC Provincial Conference and Kasangga Congress/Global Forum.

LIVING AND LEAVING A LEGACY

Introduction When great men die, people recall the things that these persons have done. Personalities like Mother Teresa of Calcutta, she is remembered as the champion of the work of the poor, Gandhi, St. Augustine, St. Francis and many individuals who lived lives with exceptional impact in history and on peoples lives. These people were born as ordinary men and women but because of some sense of purpose and dedication they lived extraordinary lives.

We too, are given chance/opportunities to live extraordinary lives even in the most simple of events or even in the most ordinary situations that we experience. As leaders in this community of ours, we have countless opportunities to be great, we have so much resources to really make an impact in society and eventually to the lives of other people. If we dont respond to this challenge we might live to be 50 and look back and just sight to the missed opportunities that we had! For the past five years, Youth for Christ has grown so much in terms of numbers, in terms of vision, and in terms of resource. Many lives of young men and women have been changed because of the Lords Spirit working through our community. Even our own family, our own children have been blessed! It would be a shame on our part if not selfish if we dont respond to the challenge on how we can perpetuate this opportunity that the Lord has blessed our community. The problem is, we leaders are not inamoratas! We cannot live forever! That is why we need to take on the perspective of leaving behind the work that was started five years ago, leaving behind not riches, not land titles, but leaving behind a legacy from which life and true joy can be experienced for generations to come! A legacy which the Lord has started. A Call to Live a Legacy At some point five years ago, individuals had to courage to say YES to the call to live out a legacy, which the Lord Jesus has started through CFC Youth for Christ. It only took a simple yes and now we are experiencing the fruits of that simple response to the Lords call. 1. So that it is no longer I who live but Christ who lives in me (Gal. 2:20)

reflecting His teaching in our daily lives being source of joy for others being a source of love
Note: Give example for each with respect to community life

2. Follow Me (Lk. 5:27) making disciples to all nations (spreading His message of love/hope) a source of conversion for others (boldly reflecting the Lords many miracles done to your life) leaving everything behind n(not being attached to the world)

Note: Expand on how CFC/YFC as a community has responded to this challenge of the Lord

3. For those who are blessed by Him shall inherit the earth(Psalm 37:22)

we have received and will continue to receive good things through Jesus we need to rid ourselves of all that deprive us of this inheritance/legacy we have to be always grateful for this inheritance

Note: Personally share how you have experienced the above in our community.

A Call to Leave a Legacy Unless we are able to pass on this way of life that was started, then as leaders, we would have failed. And if we dont see the dire need in passing this on then we dont have any business here! We are bear fruit that will remain Jn. 15:16 1. Believe in the Vision

There is power in seeing the vision (so that you can move with power0 Be men and women of vision (not serving aimlessly) Make the vision your personal vision (passing it on to your children)
Note: Share your personal convictions about the vision of CFC/YFC

2. Share the Vision

Empower others (do not feel insecure if others will rise to leadership) Spread the vision (do not allow territory or resource limit you.
Note: Site some examples/ personal experience of the above

3. Dont Allow the Vision to die with you Focus on the Lord not on your personal agenda, capabilities or situations Be open for change (always welcome the fresh prompting of the Spirit

Note: Give examples or situations where in the vision has died because leaders failed to see the above situation.

Conclusion So many things have happened. All this is not coincidence. We need to realize that what we have right now is a legacy that some started. It would take more than a lifetime to fulfill Gods plan. We will never live to see the end of this but we can do is contribute to this legacy and in effect leave a legacy of our own. This is what we call the cycle of life in our community. As generations of leaders after generations will take on the challenge of leaving a legacy, then we can be assured that our family, our own children will have a community to draw strength and support in times of trials all because we responded with a simple yes today!

Reflection: 1. 2. 3. 4. Do I realize that I am living a legacy inherited from others? Am I grateful for this inheritance that I have received? Do I want to leave a legacy for my family for others? What concrete steps can I do to leave a legacy of faith and good works?

Prayer is crucial to the life of a Christian. a) It is our direct communication link to God. b) It is a key to being victorious against temptation. c) It lies at the root of all personal godliness. 2. Prayer also puts us into proper posture before God. a) The essential nature of sin is independence. But we need to live in total dependence on God, a dependence marked by prayer. The chief end of man is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever; but we

cannot begin to enjoy God until we spend time with Him. b) Prayer keeps us trusting God for everything. c) Prayer opens the way for the Holy Spirit to transform us into the image of Jesus. B. Characteristics of effective prayer. 1. Humility. a) We cannot approach God's throne until we have confessed all known sin. Thus an examination of conscience and the attendant repentance are important. b) Prayer is a humble response to God's initiative, where in His great love for us He gave us His Son and sent His Spirit into our hearts. We need to submit our lives to God's will and bow to His sovereignty. c) Prayer is not insisting on our own way, but we must believe that God's way is perfect and that in everything He works for our good. God is far more willing to bless us than we can imagine. But we can frustrate His will for us by rebelling. d) We are to delight in the Father's love, just like little children. Lk 18:15-17. 2. Honesty. a) We do not have to pretend before God. God knows all about us anyway. And God wants us to share every part of our lives with Him. That includes our fears and failings, our moods and emotions, our thoughts and anxieties. b) We have Biblical models of honest prayer. The psalmist. Ps 13:1ff. Jesus at Gethsemane. Paul spoke of his weaknesses many times. c) As we are honest with God, He will work gently in our lives to mold us more and more into Jesus' likeness. 3. Compassion. a) Compassion means "suffering with" someone, trying to enter into their pains and problems. We need to be moved with compassion as we see the enormous needs of sinful, suffering people. Such compassion, especially in our inability to give practical help, naturally leads to prayer and intercession. b) Compassionate prayer is positive prayer. We do not need to pray about all problems in detail. We end up being conscious mainly of the problems. Rather, we focus our mind on the Lord, thinking of those aspects of His nature, or particular promises He has given, which are relevant to the problems. Negative thoughts, filled as they often are with fear, unbelief, anxiety,

anger or bitterness, may hinder God's working in our lives. c) Compassionate prayer will also have breadth in its dimension. We do not pray only for our circle of friends, our CFC activities or evangelistic programs. We need to be concerned as well about social injustice and needs--unemployment, poverty, discrimination, the homeless and oppressed, the sick, the lonely, etc. 4. Expectancy. a) When we ask for something in prayer, we should start looking for the answer and expect God to work. Eph 3:20. Mk 11:24. b) Biblical models of expectant faith. Mary. When promised the gift of a son, she began to praise God that it was now true, saying "God who is mighty has done great things for me". Lk 1:30-49. * Jesus. About to raise up Lazarus from the dead, he prayed "Father, I thank you for having heard me". Jn 11:41. c) To help us pray with expectant faith, we need to know and claim the promises of God in the scriptures. Through these promises, we know the will of God, at least in general terms. 1 Jn 5:14. 5. Persistency. a) We can become careless and lazy in our prayer. We may neglect it altogether. We may give lip-service to it by mouthing off a few familiar phrases, but our heart and mind may wander in many directions. b) Though God may answer even our casual prayers, normally He waits until our whole being is concentrated on Him. Jesus rebuked the Pharisees. Mk 7:6. Jesus taught about persistence. Lk 18:1-5. In God's wisdom, He sometimes delays in answering our prayers to see how much we really want something for His praise and glory alone. 6. Forgiveness. a) We must first know God's forgiveness by confessing every known sin, repenting and asking for His cleansing. We must distinguish between the Spirit's conviction and the devil's nagging. We must ask the Spirit to search our hearts, and not allow the devil to rob us of God's peace. b) Then we must forgive one another. Mk 11:25. An unforgiving spirit can easily spoil our relationship with God and with one another. If we hold on to sin in our hearts, God will not listen to us.

It is only when we forgive others that God can forgive us. And it is only when God forgives us that we can pray at all.

C. Conclusion. 1. Prayer is crucial to our personal life as a Christian. It is indispensable to our growing in holiness. 2. Prayer is crucial to the life and mission of CFC. We are all part of God's army, needing to receive our instructions from our Commander-in-Chief each day.

Talk outline: FLIRTING WITH FAILURE Introduction Gods plan is very clear, but why is there so much misery? Why are we living in a world of losers? The basic reality is that we are weak, prone to temptations of the world, having a propensity to sin. We are born into a world where evil is very real and has actually affected the very standards and values of life. The evil one is working to make us lose, be miserable and unhappy in the end.

The scheme of the evil one We have come to age that we know what is right and what is wrong, yet we still fall for the lures of the world. Why? Because they are packaged so attractively and caters to our basic weaknesses. Basic weaknesses are: Pleasure, Possessions, Power, and Popularity. Pleasure/ Sex, Drug, Alcohol, and Leisure. (Vice: Lust need to gratify) 1. Watching pornography or going into strip shows arouses men. Their body gets excited and seeks release of tension either through masturbation, illicit sex (w/ girlfriend, pick-up chick, sauna bath, or gay friend), and rape. 2. Sisters and young girls gets into trouble when their boyfriend likes to go to strips shows, watches X-rated films or read Playboy, FHM, Penthouse, Hustler, Abante, Bulgar, Barako, Tik-tik, and the likes. Possessions/ Money (Vice: Greed need to acquire) 1. Men has basic material needs but are brought to insatiable levels that lead to stealing, consumerism, graft and corruption. 2. He never get contented with what he has, and spends beyond his means. Power (Vice: Manipulation need to control) 1. Man has the basic need to be recognized, affirmed, and fulfilled. But the evil one distorts this in great proportions. 2. Wanting to get what he wants, by his own ways and if objected, he creates division. Popularity/Fame (Vice: Vanity need to be recognized, known) 1. Man has the basic social need to be loved. But the evil one distorts this need out of proportion leading man to crave for attention. 2. He wants to be accepted, honored and glorified in the things he do, it becomes his sense of security. The only person to be glorified in our work is God. When we flirt with pleasure, possessions, power, popularity, we flirt with the evil one who makes sin so alluring that in our human weakness, we fall. We live in a highly materialistic and hedonistic world were media says Youll never be happy unless you experience all of these. Bombarded by such messages, we accept subliminally that these are things to live and strive for by all means at all cost even to the point where evil means will justify our end. We have been conditioned/ tempted to go for those goals. Drinking Tanduay can get you a girl as pretty as Ara Mina. Having an 8210 can make you freak out and do anything even ending your life by jumping into the sea. Smoking a Malboro makes you a real man and gets to see the beautiful country side, as it kills you slowly. Use an Axe Deodorant and you can get laid in an elevator twice.

What are the Issues we would like to address? Smut and Pornography Pre- Marital Sex Illicit Relationship (Adultery & Homosexuality) Drug Addiction & Alcoholism Gambling Corruption Lying/Cheating Dishonesty Effects of our Flirting with Sin. Living for the moment (temporary happiness) Lack of Vision/mediocrity (not striving for excellence , Pwede na attitude.) Taking things easy/laziness and irresponsibility Depression (non-fulfillment, no satisfaction) More than all these is having a losers heart (being a defeatist) 1. Passes the blame on others My father is to blame he never showed me how 2. Defeatist attitude I was born into this, this is my faith, I cannot change I dont have the skills (doesnt want to learn) 3. Blindness I dont have any problem Nothing is wrong with me CONCLUSION The flirt maintains double standards and leads a double life. He behaves in two worlds, not living by what he preaches. The flirt Christian leader puts up a good image in the family but is actually fooling his parents or girlfriend and even household head, by engaging in bad gimmicks, taking drugs, and pre-marital sex. It is a life of compromise, wanting to have the best of both worlds but actually fooling Himself, for he cannot fool God. It is a life of lukewarmness, neither hot nor cold, lacking in conviction and integrity. If you continue to do this: You become a danger not only to yourselves, but also to others. For there is refusal to acknowledge the wrongdoing. You become a bad example to others.(e.g. a Household head gets his girlfriend pregnant. Or speaker gives talk while drunk) You will hurt yourself. You will become miserable. You will perpetuate evil in the world that will eventually consume you and your love ones.

Therefore, recognize the evil around you and decide not to flirt with them. Acknowledge your weaknesses and prevent yourself from being tempted beyond your capacity. Search for power not from yourself but from the spirit to overcome the world and the flesh.

Activity: Hows my driving Lord? Each will be given a copy of the score sheet. As they go through the Christian shepherds manual, after each point they will gauge their performance in that area. Stress that they must answer the sheet honestly. Introduction:

As leaders of this community, we could be compared as drivers. Drivers of public utility vehicles have a big responsibility as peoples lives were at stake as they ride. The driver must always be careful of their driving to ensure the safety of the passengers. As leaders we must ensure that what we give them (trainings, activities) ensure their safety from the evil. Drivers must have a clear vision and he must know where to go. As leaders we must also know where we will bring our members. We must have a vision for them. Drivers must stop where their passengers are exactly going to. Stopping before or after the place might make the passenger get lost. As leaders we must know if we have really build them up and we must know that we need to let go of them. A good leader empowers and let their members go and bear their fruit. Holding them more could cause them to be unconfident about what they do. This activity will measure on where we are in terms of pastoring our members and making them leaders. As each point was discussed, please gauge yourselves so that you could know where you are as a leader. (After the talk, let the members connect the numbers they have encircled. Then shade with a crayon the area on the left of the line created by connecting the numbers. This shows how big their effort must be to bring their members to where God wants them to be.)

CHRISTIAN SHEPHERDS MANUAL A day to day guide for Christian Leaders Also I heard the voice of the Lord, saying: Whom shall I send, and who will go for Us? Then I said, Here am I! Send me. (Isaiah 6:8) I. PASTORING YOUR MEMBERS

Listen! I am sending you out just like sheep to a pack of wolves. You must be as cautious as snakes and as gentle as doves. (Matthew 10:16) 10. Reach Out To Them Find them, go out of your way. There are a lot of them waiting to experience Gods plan for their lives.

That they all may be one, as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me. (John 17:21)

11. Spend time with them Be with them, they need hope through someone who can make a change in their lives. Then he said to Him, If Your Presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. (Exodus 33:15) 12. Live with them Make them part of your life, not just service. To affect them, be affected first by them. I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me. (John 10:14) 13. Know them Who are they, their strengths, weaknesses, and the person God wants them to be? And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. (1 John 4:16) 14. Help them Make an actuality of Gods love for them. Share your resources. Theres enough for everyone in the kingdom of God. Bear one anothers burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. (Galatians 6:2) 15. Sacrifice for them Be ready to give up everything for them. You have nothing to lose, everything comes from God who is the giver of your life. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much. (James 5:16b) 16. Pray for them Intercede for them, Gods plan should happen. Its not by might, nor by power, but by Gods Spirit. But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy fulfilled in themselves. (John 17:13) Discern for them Listen to God, He may speak through you for them. If God called you, He will lead His people through you. Now unto Him who is able to do exceedingly, abundantly, above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. (Ephesians 3:20) 18. Trust God for them In due time and place, they will experience Gods abundant blessings and life for them, Heaven. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:19) 17.

II. MAKING THEM LEADERS Only let your conduct be worthy of the gospel of Christ. (Philippians 1:27) 11. Be a model for them The person who you are is the one that they will follow. Your character will show the real you. Live with integrity. And they said to one another, Did not our heart burn within us while He talked with us on the road, and while He opened the Scriptures to us? (Luke 24:32) 12. Inspire them Show them the vision that they may have the passion to do it, with excitement. If its in their heart, they will fight for it. Service should not be a burden, but a fulfillment. Him we preach, warming every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus. (Colossians 1:28) 13. Teach them Make things clear for them on what to do. We have to communicate well because life is what were dealing about. As iron sharpens iron, so a man sharpens the countenance of his friend. (Proverbs 27:17) 14. Train them Allow them to have a hands-on the real work. Its not enough for them to hear it, they have to feel it. He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His names sake. (Psalm 23:3) 15. Guide them Be there to guide them as they go along the way. They will not be able to know everything at once. Life is a learning progress. Call to Me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you do not know." (Jeremiah 33:3) 16. Bring out the best in them Dont make limits for them. God can do big things through small beings. To everything there is a season, a time for every purpose under heaven. (Ecclesiastes 3:1) 17. A lot enough time for them Allow them to grow. Dont make a fast track. Do it step by step if you want the best results. O house of Israel, can I not do with you as this potter? says the Lord. Look, as the clay is in the potters hand, so are you in My hand (Jeremiah 18:6) 18. Trust them God will also work through them. If you are able to lead them well, surely they will do well.

Those helpers who do their work well win for themselves a good standing and are able to speak boldly about their faith in Christ Jesus. (1Timothy 3:13) 19. Make a better leader out of them Your goal is to make better leaders who will handle your area better. Things should go better, not worse. I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for apart from Me you can do nothing. (John 15:5) 20. Pray with them Anchor them to God, He is the one who should lead them. Their relationship with God will tell the results of their work. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. (Galatians 6:9) APPENDICES Points to Remember 1. Christian Leadership is not a position, its an anointing by God that follows by responsibility. 2. If your position as a leader causes you to be functional, its either you get out of the position or get out of the leadership. 3. To lead like Christ is to live like Christ. 4. To live for God is to die to ourselves. 5. As Christians, the things that we do for God and for others are the things that count and are worthy. 6. The fulfillment of holiness is when this life of ours becomes an instrument of holiness for others. I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. (Ephesians 4:1) To live is for Christ and to die is gain. (Philippians 1:21)

CREATIVE APPROACHES TO EVANGELIZATION Objectives: 1. To stress the importance of creative evangelization. 2. To share on how to conceptualize a creative handle in a talk or activity. Creative and other components: 1. A video of any ILC, or anything (any visual material) that would show that a creative in an activity is essential in bringing in the message. Materials Needed: 1. Covenant talk outlines (or any set of talks) 2. TV or projector 3. Laptop, VCD or VHS player 4. The leaders are so lazy of thinking on how to creatively convey the message of the activity. That is the reason why most of the assemblies today are less attended. The members only look up to the Pre Conferences, ILC, and provincial assemblies. We now have here the four covenant talks. Each of the four groups will now be assigned a talk. The challenge is to make a creative way on how to present it. THE GREATEST OF THESE Objective: 1. To teach the members the value of forgiveness, humility and the healing power of prayer. DYNAMICS: The talk is meant to lead the members into the prayer-healing session later on. Since the prayer session may take much of the prayer meeting time, it is advisable not to have a game or activity for this meeting. Arrange the seats in a circle wherein everyone is inside the circle. The speaker can move around inside or sit with the group. It would be good for the group to be in this arrangement so that there will be no need to break the momentum and go straight to the healing session. Music can play a big part in this activity. Invite a music team to assist or prepare songs that can help the members into a prayerful mood during the prayer-healing session. Reflection songs may be a big help as well. Also, jubilant praise songs may be played for the mini worship after the prayer-healing session. Talk Outline: The Greatest of These INTRODUCTION If I speak in the tongues of men and of angels, but have not love, I am a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. And if I have prophetic powers, and understand

all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. If I give away all I have, and if I deliver my body to be burned, but have not love, I gain nothing. Love is patient and kind; love is not jealous or boastful; it is not arrogant or rude. Love does not insist on its own way; it is not irritable or resentful; it does not rejoice at wrong, but rejoices in the right. Love bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. (RSV 1 Corinthians 13:1-7) Being in YFC is exciting. You get to meet many different people and travel to different places. You get to learn and do things you have never done before, like perform, model or act. You get to help people and serve your brothers and sisters. But above and beyond all these things, is love. Without love, none of these things we do in YFC means anything. But, its not always easy to love. When we are judged or misunderstood. When people criticize you for something that you did, it hurts. You begin to feel alone. You want to hit back. We have to remember that hitting back never solved anything. It only makes things worse. Realize that we have to forgive just as Christ did when people treated Him wrongly. When the people we depend on disappoint us. Your friends, household, even your leaders can disappoint you. It hurts doubly to be put down by someone you rely on and trust. You can get disillusioned and angry and forget to love. Understand that people make mistakes. No justification here, just compassion and understanding, just as Christ did. Realize however that forgiveness is the only way we can ever have peace. No one has ever lived a happy peaceful life in anger and pride. Seek to understand. When someone wrongs you, seek first to understand that persons situation. Give him/her the benefit of the doubt. Rather than indulging in your anger and contaminating everyone else with your anger, go find solutions. Loving and being right It is more important to protect your relationships than to have the last say. Everything you have ever and will ever learn in YFC is as important as learning to love. Loving even when you are hurt, even when the person does not deserve it. Jesus loved us beyond measurement, without limit. Even when we didnt deserve it.

ACTIVITY At this point we will take time to pray for each other. Many of us have been judged and hurt, and many of us have judged and hurt others as well. And so we must pray that the Lord will give us the humility to accept our weaknesses and give us the grace to forgive to love and to refresh us to serve anew next year. After a song that can create the proper environment for prayer, the speaker (or team leader) will lead the participants into a general prayer of healing, forgiveness and the grace to serve in and out of love. After the general prayer, the participants should be encouraged to go around praying-over and ministering to each other. During this time, participants may take the opportunity to repair damaged relationships or resentments by asking to be prayed over or by personally asking for forgiveness if the persons involved are present. A few reflective songs may be sung by the music team during the pray-over which will end with a time of exuberant worship.

DISCERNMENT Objectives: 1. To share on how to really listen to God. 2. To instill to the members the importance of Gods intervention in our decisions. Creative and other components: 1. A reflective atmosphere/venue. 2. Songs that are relaxing and reflective. Materials Needed: 1. Reflection tapes 2. Bible 3. Pen 4. Talk Outline:

DEPENDABILITY

Talk Outline: Dependability of a Christian Leader I. Introduction Crucial to the continuity and sustainability of Gods work is the dependability of the leaders. Dependable leaders are those you can trust to guard the vision of the community with their life, and those who have the heart for the mission of making Gods plan a reality. We need to build up leaders who can be trusted to take care of Gods people effectively, otherwise what they build will collapse. Dependability An important quality of a Christian leader is dependability. Members will not be secure in their commitment unless dependable leaders lead them. The Israelites endured 40 years of hardship until they possessed the Promise Land because they trusted Joshua. How long have we served as leaders in YFC? Can we be trusted to see this through, to the extent that God will allow us? Or will we be like the stupid Galatians who were rebuked by Paul in Gal. 3:3 because they ended in the way of the flesh after starting out in the Spirit of God? Important Elements of a Dependable Leader 1. Discerning Keep yourself attuned to the will and plan of God for the community or any task that is entrusted to you, making sure that you do not fall into the trap of unrighteousness in pursuing your goal. 2. Decisiveness This begins with a strong conviction that leads to a decisive action. There is no room for lukewarmness, half-heartedness and weakness to those who have been entrusted with the responsibility of making important decisions that affects the lives of Gods people. Indecisive leaders are those who are not totally convinced about the importance of what they are doing, or are reluctant to let go of their personal agenda in order to follow the will of God.

3.

Daring A Christian leader can make radical decisions if he is confident that he is doing the will of the Lord. And if he trusts that God will take care of him. A successful leader is a risk taker if his heart is pure and his motives are not selfish. a. In doing strategic evangelization one should not be disturbed by comments that we are being elitist when we know in our hearts that unless we make this move we will not be able to sustain the work. b. When God called us to produce the Bagong Silang Musicale it took a lot of guts to venture into a field that is totally new to us. But we took the risk. God brought us the right creative people at the right time and the rest was history. Bagong Silang the Musicale is now one of the most successful shows in the history of Philippine theater in terms of reaching the biggest audience. c. To be daring is to be flexible in exploring new approaches and strategies in spreading the work of God. The whole area of creative evangelization will not be possible if we had leaders who cannot be daring because they are too rigid. Because we dare to be different, we now have Praise and Fashion, Praise Parades, Club Praise, Praisefest, Praise Concerts, Praise Parties, and Big Conferences. We are confident that by next year we will be moving to television and other forms of expression to spread the Good News and the Great Adventure Life of a Christian. Enduring Dependability is seeing things through. Paul calls upon us to finish the race and as leaders it is our responsibility to help other finish as well.

4.

5.

Disciplined Life and Growing in Personal Holiness To be dependable is first of all to be a good witness in our personal life to the people that we serve.

What Makes One Dependable Practical areas of dependability that we take for granted: 1. 2. 3. Punctuality Lack of Thoroughness/Resourcefulness Lack of Obedience

We have problems with the above areas because of the attitudes that we have as Christian Leaders. 1. Our lack of consciousness to strive for excellence in doing Gods work. We bring mediocrity into our service because of our pwede na attitude.

2.

Lack of Accountability for the work of God. This is often taken for granted, because God does not manifest Himself in person to ask for an accounting.

Conclusion: The work of God is our highest priority and accountability. The time we spend doing Gods work is an investment in our marriage and the future of our children. For we are building and securing not only our future but for our children, and our childrens children. For us leaders the accountability is greater because in addition to our own family, other families have been entrusted to us. If we cannot be depended on to do our job, a lot of people will suffer and fall out and we would have lost our purpose and anointing as leaders. Brothers and Sisters let us all be dependable. If there are more dependable people, more work can be done and serving God will not be a burden. Let us actively seek responsibility and be a part of Gods great work, happy and peaceful. Let us remember that in God great work although we may not be paid but god will surely reward us in his kingdom. So let us all actively seek responsibility, be accountable, and be dependable Christian Leaders. AMEN.

A LITTLE STORY This is a story about four people named EVERYBODY, SOMEBODY, ANYBODY, and NOBODY. There was an important job to be done and Everybody was sure that Somebody would do it. Anybody could have done it, but Nobody did it.

Somebody got angry about that, because it was Everybodys job. Everybody thought Anybody could do it, but Nobody realized that Everybody wouldnt do it. It ended up that Everybody blamed Somebody when Nobody did what Anybody could have done. Reflection: 1. 2. 3. 4. Am I a dependable leader? Can God and my community depend on me? What holds me back in from being a dependable leader? What must I do to become a dependable leader? List down areas wherein I should improve and become dependable? (To end sing Song Of A Servant)
