Stars from the Past and Present

Former NZ Representatives Joanne Williams and Cheryl Te Kani McQueen, both still very involved in squash. Joanne in the Waikato & Squash NZ and Cheryl in BOP

Our doubles Masters World Champion Gary Duberly was hoping to avoid the camera. He was here supporting daughter Tyler.

Looks are deceiving! Former NZ Junior Rep Lance Beddoes appears bored! But hes not! Hes concentrating on being the helpful referee!

The Te Kani-McQueens Camden, Danny McQueen & Cheryl Te Kani

STARS FOR THE WEEKEND! There is no doubting that Ben Wickins (IT Specialist) and George Allbury, Bens Assistant and one of the Tournament Controllers were just that! This was the first big event they have been involved inoff court - and they came up trumps. They also played so they were kept busy for the 3 full days. FULL RESULTS CAN BE FOUND ON THE REMUERA RACKETS WEBSITE www.rrcjuniornationals.tk

Its not only teenagers that cant live without their cell phones! Mark Millar (Zachs dad-right) looks like hes laying down the law to Gareth Fleming!

Now no mistakes Ben!! Our IT man in deep concentration! Kelsey Manuatu has some great helpers! They dont come much younger than that!

District Referee Manurewas Terry Manuatu and Hamilton Nick OLeary during Nicks daughter, Hollys match. A rather nervous dad suggested hed rather be on court than playing every shot from the top! Many parents can relate to that. Although.

.. ...Its not an issue for Terry Manuatu . His 4 children

played and he takes it in his stride. Above is the oldest , Josh who won Boys 4. Josh looks rather dashing having taken a few hours off to go to the Mass for the Young St Vincent de Paul Leaders.

NO THEY ARE NOT JUNIORS BUT THEY WERE BOTH INVOLVED!

Remueras Maurie Peters (left) was one of my ever so reliable Tournament Controllers while Colin Wilson was the lucky winner of the popular HEAD Typhoon 150 RacketsRaffle. Colin decided to try it out today. Both he and Maurie are regularly seen on court these days and are still as passionate as ever about the game. Their average age is 75!

Good crowds were there to watch great squash all weekend.

Thanks to all for being part of a great weekend. In particular thanks to Phil Buscke, Tony Dye, Maurie Peters, George Allbury & Ben Wickins; the National Referees and Squash NZ.
