May 19th Charity Golf Scramble at Pleasant Valley Golf Course

All the fun begins at 9:00 A.M. We are asking all those who like to golf to please save this date for a worthy cause. All proceeds will be donated to our local Foundation Shelter. Look for a sign-up sheet this Sunday on the bulletin board outside our nursery. We need several volunteers that day at the church and at the course. Please see Brad for how you might serve during this event. We need many donations of cans of soda and bottled water between now and May 19th, so we are asking our congregation to begin donating these products to help defray our expenses. We want to keep our expenses minimal so we can raise as much support as possible for our local Foundation Shelter. Please place all donations at our nursery door entryway. If you have any questions see Brad.

SENIOR SAINTS IN THE SMOKIES: There is still time to register for this truly outstanding senior event. It is a tremendously inspirational and relaxing experience set in the shadow of the Great Smoky Mountains. Our departure date is May 28 and we return on June 1. As of this writing, we have submitted 9 registration brochures. WEDNESDAYS: This week (4/25) we will begin a study of the book of Galatians. This will, like most of our Bible studies, be a chapter by chapter adventure. I invite you to join us for either the 10:00AM or 6:30PM sessions. SUNDAY EVENINGS IN THE SANCTUARY: This evening, April 22, our topic will be Should Everyone Speak In Tongues? and the text is found in I Corinthians 14:5. On April 29 and May 6, we will be having special guest speakers. On May 13, I will return with Wine For The Stomach based on I Timothy 1:12-13. Why not be a part of these 6:00 PM worship services each week. (Communion is available.) GIANT PRINT BIBLES: I still have a few of the giant print, soft cover, NIV Bibles on hand. If you would like one, you may see me or stop by the church office. The cost is just $12.50 each. FINAL THOUGHT: Any faucet can turn water on, but after a few years, only a good faucet will turn it off. The same thing applies to human tongues.

Dear Servants of Christ, It is an exciting honor to remind you that Vacation Bible School is just around the corner, and we need your help. This year VBS will take place from Monday, June 11 Friday, June 15. Each night there will be a meal from 5:00-5:25pm. The programming for the evening will take place from 5:30-8:00pm. This year we are incredibly excited to see the church transformed into Promise Island, where kids discover Gods lifesaving love through Gods promises offered throughout scripture. Workers in Hawaiian shirts, kids greeted with a lei at the door, a song comparing the sweetness of Gods love to bananas, papayas, and mangos; this is going to be awesome, and we do not want you to miss out! If you are interested in serving, we have two simple options for signing up. You could simply tear off the small form at the bottom of this page and place it in the offering or stick it in the box hanging outside of the secretarys office. The other way that you can sign up to volunteer is by going to www.vacationbibleschool.com/fifthavenue. The volunteer sign-up page will take less than 5 minutes for you to fill out but will be a world of blessing for organizing this week. Either way you use, you do not need to know where you want to serve. We will follow up with you to talk about opportunities. No matter your skill set, we will find a comfortable place for you. For all of you wonderful people who are able to help serve these kids, we are going to have a big VBS meeting right after second service on Sunday, April 29. We will all gather together for a carry-in meal, so please bring a hot dish, salad, or dessert to share. The VBS organizers will share their plan and vision for the week, inform you on any types of preparation or service opportunities that are still available, and will answer any question you may have. If you have any questions about serving or about VBS in general, you can contact Tracy Hinson (thinson1@columbus.rr.com) or Jean Azbell (jazbell@columbus.rr.com). Please sign up to volunteer by Sunday, April 22. Every year Vacation Bible School blesses the lives of the workers just as much as the students, and we encourage you to step out and sign up to be a part of this wonderful experience. Thank You, FACC VBS Team

Brad Seevers preaching

Christ-Centered Worship
We make it a priority every Sunday to celebrate Jesus through our music. (Romans 11:36-12:1-2). We focus on Jesus through grace-based preaching and teaching & understand the Bible is our authority (2 Timothy 3:16).

Church Health and Biblical Balance

Church health becomes reality when God's people seek harmony & live consistently. We expect every member to protect the unity of Christ's Church. (Romans 12:16; 1 Peter 3:8)

Global Evangelism
We are constant to our founding call to worldwide evangelism, proclaiming to all that Jesus Christ is the Savior, Healer, and Soon-Coming King (Acts 20:27).

Fellowship and Ministry

After people begin their journey with Jesus, we will equip them to find a ministry based upon their strengths. We want everyone to serve in some capacity. (1 Corinthians 12:12-27) We also want His church to be the living evidence of His love and power to the world.

How Can I respond today?

At FACC we look to the Bible for guidance on all issues. We believe that Gods Word is clear concerning what a person must do to become a Christian. Trust that Jesus can bring you to salvation. Turn (repent) from the sin in your life. Confess your desire to make Jesus the Lord of your life. Be baptized (immersed) in water for the forgiveness of sins and to receive the Holy Spirit into your life. To make this life decision for Christ, we ask that you come forward during our commitment song at the conclusion of the Sunday message. Baptized believers are welcome to become members at FACC by coming forward on Sunday morning or by seeing our Senior Minister to discuss this further. We ask that you complete a series of Curious classes to help you better understand what you are committing to as a member.

Discipleship
We do not want you to "get religion" here at Fifth Avenue Church of Christ in Lancaster. We are all about teaching you that Jesus seeks a daily relationship with Him through a life of obedience. In other words, we want to see the things you are taught actually change your lifestyle & your daily decisions.

Social Conscience
We place high value on the sanctity of human life, of Biblical marriage and morality, and we welcome ethnic diversity (Isaiah 56:7; Philippians 2:15-16).
