If the book is an edited collection of papers written by different authors, cite only the editors name in the author column, and insert (ed.) or (eds) after the editors name, eg Jones, G.M. (ed.) If the place of publication is not a major city, also cite the state or country, eg Geelong, Victoria.

Most issues of most journals are now available online. For referencing purposes, you should still treat these journals as print (category 3 above), rather than as electronic (category 11). If a journal is only web-based, it will indicate this fact on its home page.

Editors names are not always given, in which case, leave this category empty as above. The publisher category should only be filled if it differs from the name of the conference. The words proceedings of are not always included, as this fact may be assumed by citing the conference title itself. (7) UNPUBLISHED MATERIALS These include conference papers which have been presented but not subsequently published, as well as abstracts, manuscripts and theses. Unpublished work is signified by using roman type instead of italic for the title.
