    The University Grants Commission awards 20 Junior Research Fellowships and 7 Research Associateshipseveryyeartothescholars(teachersandstudents)fromdevelopingcountriesof Asia, Africa and Latin America. The Fellowships & Associateships are granted to scholars undertakingadvancedstudiesandresearchinScience,HumanitiesandSocialSciencesinIndian Universities and are awarded in concurrence with the Ministry of Human Resource Development,GovernmentofIndia.Acopyoftheguidelinesandapplicationformatisenclosed herewithforyourinformation. Applications from eligible scholars for the year 20112012 for availing the above mentioned Fellowships/Associateships may be forwarded to the Commission (in triplicate) for consideration.Thelastdateofreceiptofapplicationsisonemonthfromthedateofissueof thiscircular. Applicationfromforeignnationals,whoarealreadystudyinginIndia,willalsobeconsideredif theysendtheirapplicationsthroughtheUniversitywheretheyproposetopursuetheirresearch workinIndiadulyendorsedbytheEmbassy/HighCommissionconcerned. The University Grants Commission does not take the responsibility of providing accommodationinIndiatoselectedcandidates.However,admissibleHouseRentAllowanceis providingtotheselectedcandidates.ThecostoftraveltoIndiaandreturnwillalsonottobe bornebytheUGC. Incomplete applications and those received directly from scholars will not be entertained, canvassinginanyformwillbeadisqualification. The selection will be made by the Commission on the recommendations of an Expert Committee constituted for the purpose. The decision of the Commission shall be final.
