1. GENERAL PRESENTATION
1.1 Background and Context of the Project
Deforestation is the large-scale destruction of forests by human action. It has grown rapidly over the years, however, is not given the attention it requires the issue. Forests play a key role in carbon storage, as are the lungs of the Earth. When destroyed, the excess carbon dioxide in the atmosphere contributes to global warming of the Earth, and this involves many troublesome side effects. For this reason, as a way to make people aware of the importance of our forests for the welfare of all living things, humans and animals, has decided to carry out the project to reforest the park of North Hills zone 17 of Guatemala City. The project will take place at the above location with the help of community members so that it worked with the preservation of nature and in turn will educate people about caring for it. This will be done with the help of institutions such as the National School of Agriculture, -ENCA- which will provide trees for planting in the park.

1.2 Justification of Project

Deforestation is the process by which soil loses its forests in the hands of men. The man in his quest to meet their personal or community use wood to make many products. The wood is also used as fuel or firewood for cooking and heating. On the other hand, economic activities in the field require areas for livestock or for growing different products. This has generated a lot of pressure on forests. To knock down a forest, living organisms that are homeless. In many cases the animals, plants and other organisms die or turn them to move to another forest. Destroying a forest means ending many of the species that live there. However, the man is in a position to meet their needs. For this reason we can not ignore deforestation. What you should do is consciously make it of the proper control and acquire culture that for every tree cut should be planted at least two, and nurture them until they are well developed. The reason why will the project is precisely to begin implementing this ecological culture in people, which will lead to better care of forests, wildlife and human welfare.

1.3 Target Group

The immediate target group of our project will be the people who inhabit the neighborhood of North Hills zone 17 of Guatemala City. One of the advantages of the project is that the scope thereof is not limited only to people living in the surrounding area where the project itself, but can spread to other areas, this is because people to become conscious have ecological initiative to encourage other people as well which will cause the project to be repeated in other sectors involving more people.

1.4 Institutional framework

The project it was taking place in a community of zona 17 in Guatemala capital city, the project has been implemented in a local park in this site, and this place was an excellent place because needed more trees to look better. The staffing of the people in this plan has been a group of volunteers of people who lives in the community also the people who has organized this event teach to the volunteers how help to plant a cypress. MAGA, this institution it was charged with provide us trees, they told us that we must present to them a structured project, but by the low time remaining we didnt can present this project. Therefore communities provided tools and a little help with the trees, the Comite unico de barrio join with neighbors in order to give a big aid.

2. Methodology
2.1 Development objective Teach the people the importance to safe the natural resources also create more places of
natural beautiful life and learning about this, to make a better natural community.

2.2 Immediate objectives

Teach to the community how plant a tree and safe the environment. Learning one of the methods to safe the nature. Create a best place to live in the communitys project. Increase a safe place to live to all species forms.

2.3 Project strategy

Look for aid in Institutions like MAGA, ENCA, INAB, because those organizations manage all referent with plants, trees. Encourage people to preserve environment, based around a clear environment is health for they and community. Teach to children how to reforest and how they can care an environment. Have a little talk with different communities about reforestation and benefits of this activities. Follow up and spread habit to other communities.

2.4 Results
50 trees planted in a little suburb. People committed to help us and care those trees. People that give a follow up to this project in the community.

2.5 Activities
Brainstorming about strategies for this project. Design, plan for the implementation of this project. Submits of projects to different institutions looking for aid. Plantation of little cypress trees. Talks with benefit community with this project. Follow up and support to this community in order to plant more trees and how those planted previously care.

3. Resources available, aid sought and budget

3.1 Resources available
We use low resources, because our project doesnt invest in many branches. We provided: Human resource Trees Tools Fertilizer

3.2 Aid sought

a) Equipment
10 buckets of gardening. 5 gardening shovels. 5 trays.

b) Staffing
For this project we work with a community. Just we work with this community. Any person took part in this activity. People in community and us, worked hard in order to finish project at the same day.

c) Financial ass
All related with money, it was financed by us, and little things that community contributed, like some of equipment. No money was contributed by community, all things like fertilizer, trays and buckets was provides by us.

4. Report and evaluation

4.1 Report and evaluation
According to our objectives we have done our issue reforesting a park of a community. The trees were financed by the workgroup and some tools by the Comite Unico de Barrio; the preservation of the little trees were responsible of the same entity. Having such care of the trees they are keeping in good conditions; the people in the surroundings were very kind enough to offer to water de plants near of their houses.

a) Monthly report
The trees are growing correctly; they have been receiving a good careful of people in the surroundings. The people in the surroundings of the park are very glad because the trees gave the park a little more beauty than before and people are really glad. We are grateful with the young volunteers of the community that help us in order to achieve de objective of the project.

b) Final evaluation
The reforestation project continued doing visits to the area to verify the good growing of the trees and the good care of them. Some trees were damaged because children in the surroundings play in the middle where de trees were planted so some have been damaged because this. People have done perimeters around the trees to protect them and prevent accidents with children who plays in the park.
