The Potential of Indonesia's growing market, made Saudi Arabias entrepreneurs are increasingly interested with Indonesian products.

The amount of interest of Saudi Arabians businessmen to Indonesian products may be indicated by increased demand for trading or import commodity requests (Inquiry) from Saudi Arabians businessman to Indonesia businessman through the Indonesia Trade Promotion Center. During the year of 2011, according to data owned by the Consulate General in Jeddah, there were 135 requests trade relations, or an increase of 23.85 percent over the previous year which was only 109 requests.

As for Indonesia's commodities which interests Saudi Arabias entrepreneurs during 2011 such as food products and beverages, fresh ginger, spices, instant noodles, low-calorie sweeteners, snacks, and disposable clove. In addition, there are also products such as building materials, ceramic tiles,

marble, wood flooring, wood products, plywood, textile products as well, tailoring materials, garments, cotton textiles, silk, decoration product and so on.

Its not surprising that Indonesias entrepreneurs recently has begun to glance at Saudi Arabia as a potential market for Indonesian products especially for the Middle East region. Saudi Arabia is judged to have a number of contributing factors which is not necessarily used by other countries in the region yet. Among other sizeable population as much as 27.5 Million People, plus the number of citizens who live and work in Saudi Arabia whose number is estimated to reach 1 Million People. Another factor is the level of welfare per capita income of Saudi Arabia with USD 15.774 in 2010, which is pretty good with high purchasing power.
Although the chances of national exports products to Saudi Arabia are widely opened, the Consulate General in Jeddah recognizes that Indonesians businessman are less aggressive in promoting its product through Saudi Arabias market. It is mainly because Indonesias entrepreneurs havent do their best efforts in exploiting export opportunities through a variety of international fairs and Selling Missions as an effort to increase non-oil exports and also an increase in International Trade Cooperation, in particular to penetrate the overseas market, so DISPERINDAGKOP and UKM of DIY by the year of 2012 will hold a business Meeting to Jeddah to include businesses that can meet directly with local entrepreneurs.
