Benefits Assistant

Summary

Reports To: Firm Wide Director of Compensation & Benefits

Provide general administrative support to the Human Resources Benefits function. Maintain working knowledge of all health and welfare and retirement plan eligibility and enrollment requirements. Manage all electronic and paper employee benefits and administrative files. Serve as key team player in interface with attorneys and staff in all offices by playing lead role in responding to inquiries. Maintain visibility with benefits vendors as it relates to benefits enrollment and eligibility. Maintain all employee benefits files in both the working file and the Human Resources Management System (HRMS). Responsible for most data entry into the HRMS as it relates to benefits Prepare benefits orientation kits for attorneys and staff. Maintain adequate supply of all orientation materials at all times Conduct staff new hire benefits orientation and process all benefits enrollments Interface with benefits vendors to submit electronic eligibility files and resolve eligibility issues. Serve as liaison between firm personnel and third party administrators on matters related to benefits eligibility and enrollment. Coordinate benefits enrollment and deductions with Payroll Department Manage overage dependents benefits eligibility process and provide the appropriate notices Prepare all benefits related paper work for terminated employees Schedule and conduct benefits exit interviews Manage and respond to all inquiries submitted through benefits email box and Human Resources Hotline Assist with production and delivery of all Annual Open Enrollment activities and communications including Flu Shot program, Health Awareness Fair and Compensation & Benefits presentations Coordinate all mass mailings for the department Provide back up support for Staff Recruitment function as it relates to general new hire orientation. Shares responsibility with other HR support staff members for overall operations of the department. Provides coverage in the absence of others and shares responsibility for meeting and assisting all incoming visitors Assist with other clerical tasks Timely and regular attendance Performs other duties as assigned Bachelors Degree preferred One year relevant work experience preferred Law Firm experience a plus Strong oral and written communication skills Familiarity with HRMS Systems a plus
