Prospero is a main character in the play called, The Tempest. Prospero has achieved many of his goals and desires such as getting his revenge on his brother Antonio. He has succeed in his goals, teaching Caliban a lesson and in finding a correct and perfect boy for Miranda who she can trust forever. Prospero gets back his dukedom from his evil brother, Alonso. Prospero tells, Thy rankest fault; all of them; and require my dukedom of thee, which thou must restore, to Antonio (V.I). Prospero says this because his brother had stolen his dukedom from him and threw him out from the place and now he wants it because, it was one of his desires to make his brother relies what he has done to him and get his power back, which he did in the end. Prospero also had succeeded one of his goals, was trying to make sure Ferdinand was the right boy for Miranda to love and spend her whole life with him, by giving many tests. All the trouble I put you through was to test your love for her, and youve passed the test remarkably well, to Ferdinand (IV.i). Prospero had found a rightfully husband for Miranda. So now he doesnt have to worry too much about Mirandas life, because he has accomplished one of his goals. He tells Ferdinand that he was testing him, to see if he was a rightful husband for Miranda and that he was. Prospero also succeeded on his second goal, teaching Caliban a lesson for trying to kill him. Prospero tells, The moment they planned to act is almost here, To Ariel (V.I). He tells Ariel to get ready to teach Caliban a lesson. That is one of Prosperos goals. Prospero tells Ariel, Go order my goblin servants to make these fellows bones ache, give them muscle cramps all over, and give them more bruises than leopards have spots, to Ariel (V.I). Prospero has achieved his goals by making his goblins chase Caliban and hurt him, until he realizes that he shouldnt have messed with him. Through this play Prospero had many goals and desires that he had accomplished. Some of the goals and desires he had accomplished were, teaching Caliban a lesson, making sure Miranda got the right boy and getting his dukedom from his brother. He teaches Caliban his lesson by making his goblins hurt him, made sure Ferdinand was the right man for Miranda by testing him with several tests and getting his dukedom back from Alonso by forgiving him for what he has and returning Ferdinand to Alonso.
