NSE has many firsts to its name such as creation of the first clearing corporation in the country in the form of the National Securities Clearing Corporation Limited (NSCCL), including the first systematic process of member inspections, building a sophisticated market surveillance system, and a country wide high capacity data network supporting close to 200,000 dealer. NSE is the largest stock exchange of the country. It has a market share of nearly 70% in equity trading and 98% in futures and options trading in India. Globally, NSE ranks among the top three stock exchanges in terms of number of contracts traded in single stock futures, index futures and stock options. We are among the top four of the stock exchanges around the world in terms of number of transactions and are also ranked among the top ten largest derivatives exchanges of the world.
