GUARDSMAN

Key features of range:

External barrier (chain or solid)
During the cover opening sequence the

operative is: i) Constantly shielded from the open chamber ii) Able to maintain a stable foot position iii) Able to leave the safety barrier in place during equipment maintenance

GUARDSMAN PRODUCT REGULATIONS

The GUARDSMAN successfully controls almost all of the major hazards associated with equipment retrieval from the open chamber. This was achieved by carrying out a risk assessment analysis under The management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, which requires all employers to assess the risks to their employees at work. Steelway Brickhouse identified the following hazards common with this activity:

Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment

Regulations LOLER The GUARDSMAN is believed to be the only cover in its class to satisfy the LOLER code of practice for working platforms.
Manual Handling Operation Regulations

Falls from height Lifting operations Confined spaces Trip hazards

The GUARDSMAN eliminates the need to uncomfortably stoop or twist while operating the cover.
Construction (Design and Management)

Regulations The GUARDSMAN has been designed to reduce the hazards faced by operatives carrying out maintenance work on retrieved equipment. Steelway Brickhouse cannot eliminate the confined space but the unique opening action means that access equipment can be positioned before the cover is opened.
