Event title Romanian drug industry - factor of economic recovery or collateral victim of health care reform?

Event argument

In the last years there has been a strong tendency of decreasing market share of locally produced drugs. Late payments, a suffocating fiscal framework and a lack of direct recognition from the authorities of the contribution of this sector to economic growth have reduced the investment in new production facilities.

Drugs that are produced in Romania are, mostly, generic drugs. Despite the fact that generics are, in most European Union countries, a primary driver of cost efficiency of the health system and ensuring a broad access of population to medication, Romanian authorities have supported the use of generics more declarative. New health reform talks too little, if any, of local and generic manufacturers as a solution to efficient health system. Conference organized in partnership with ZF APMGR aims to answer some critical questions for future drug Romanian industry. Romania has a drug industry? Can it contribute to the economic recovery? What are the facilities that the state may provide for the opening of new production capacities? Generics can be a solution for relocation on a sustainable health system? How can the state and industry support drug education recovery in this sector with high added value? Format of the event
