    Thepurposeofthepresentationdeckistoprovideadditionalinformationandclaritytotheexecutive summary.Itisanopportunityforcontestantstoelaborateonimportantkeypointsortodepict/explain complexdetailsinamannerthatmaybeeasiertounderstand.ItshouldNOTbeseenasareiterationor replacementoftheexecutivesummary.Followingaresomerulesandguidelinesthatareintendedtohelp youprepareyourpresentationdeck.Thereareonlythreerulesthatmayresultindisqualificationifnot followed.Therestareformatandcontentguidelinesthatbroadlyrepresentsomeofthecriteriathatwe expectjudgesmayuseintheiroverallevaluation. Rules* Theonlyrulesthat,ifnotfollowed,mayresultinimmediatedisqualificationfromthecontestarethelength, layoutandremittancerequirements:1)DecksmustbeinPowerPoint(.ppt)format,2)eachdeckshouldhave atitleandagendaslide,and3)theremustbe10slidestoapresentationdeck(includingtitleandagenda slides) FormatGuidelines a)ReadabilityandClarity Makesurethatpresentationhighlightskeypoints,isconcise,easilylegibleand followsgoodPowerPointpresentationrules.Thinkofwaystohighlightkeypoints, useofwhitespace,amountofinformationoneachslide,etc. b)Consistency Thepresentationdeckshouldbevisuallycohesiveandconsistentthroughoutthe presentation.Thinkofyouruseoflogos,colors,fonts,fontsize,spacing,etc. ContentGuidelines a)ClarityandConciseness Agendaslidesshouldclearlywalktheaudiencethroughthepresentationdeck. Titlesofeachslideshouldbeclearandconciseinexplainingthecontentofthat slide.Keypointsshouldbehighlightedtothereaderwithintheslideformat. Avoidfiller/overlytedious/insignificantinformation.Thinkofthe60secondrule cansomeonereadingyourpresentationgrasptheintendedtakeawaysina clearandnonconfusingmannerwithin60seconds? Informationprovidedoneachslideshouldfollowalogicalthoughtprogression b)InformationalContent andcomplementtheexecutivesummary.Thereshouldbesufficientvalue addingcontent.Keypointsshouldbesupportedbyfactsthatjointlyleadtothe endingconclusions.Thinkofthedeckasanopportunitytopresentmore informationontopoftheexecutivesummaryinstrengtheningyourcasetothe judges. Thepresentationdeckshouldaddto/enhancethevalueofthebusinessplan. c)Relevance Avoidgoingintotangentsorthatirrelevanttothemainbusinessideas.The executivesummaryandpresentationdeckshouldtietogetherintoonecohesive package. d)Citations Anygraphs,quotesandinformationreceivedfromthirdpartiesshouldbe appropriatelycitedwithinthepresentation.
