1. INTRODUCTION:

1.1: Objective of the study: a. To fulfill the course requirement b. To make people aware of the garbage c. To produce electricity in a cost effective way

1.2: Scope: Load shedding is a problem for Bangladesh. So in this report we have discussed about how we can make and use electricity by using garbage.

1.3: Limitations: We tried to give our full effort, but still there are some limitations in our study. Those are given below: a. Limitation of time b. Dependency on secondary information c. Limitation of cost.

1.4: Methodology: 1.4.1: Types and sources of data: We could not get any primary information. So we have to prepare this report base on secondary data. We have collected data from internet, newspaper, and from books. 1.4.2: Data collection plan: We have colleted data mainly from the internet. We also take some information from newspapers and magazines.

EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

In this report we have discussed about New Product Plan and we have selected plants that will produce electricity from the garbage. We have prepared this report to complete our course requirement as well as to develop our knowledge. Though we tried our best to prepare the report without any mistake but still there are some limitations in the report because of the limitation of time and cost. In this report we have shown that the plant we will establish in our country will produce electricity from the garbage. So this plant will be helpful for both in case of garbage management and for fulfilling the need of electricity of our country. We have discussed that when and how will we set up the plants, where will we establish it. We have also discussed the marketing mix(4Ps), the budget, marketing and financial objective of the plants etc. we hope that our product plan will be helpful in case of improvement of our country.

Market analysis: Potential customer: Major EPZs, total 447 clients are there. Developing demand: Will be added the excessive amount with National power Grid. Customer demand: In our country there is high demand of electricity, especially in industrial area. Sometimes it is seen that because of load shedding, the industries cannot run properly and it results in a huge loss and for this reason the industries fail to fulfill the need of the customers. So the demand of electricity is very high in industrial areas. Type of need the product can meet: It can meet Electricity deficiency problem in these Industrial zones.

Product Review: Features: The raw garbage is turned into RDF (Refused Derived Fuel) pellet. The pellets together with 30% auxiliary fuels such as gas, coal, rice husk, etc., at our specially designed boiler, produce heat for steam turbine to run electric generator. How it works: With a new invention in MSW Processing, the shredded and wet garbage will be converted to a new product "RDF Coke" with maximum 10% moisture. The moisture is separated with some organic content and from that methane gas is produced. This mini processing plant requires 0.5MW, two sheds 30x70 meters. With a low initial investment we can process 100T/D garbage and produce 30 T/D "RDF Coke". Difference: Conventional method produce electricity from water or stream or solar, but this method use the daily wastage as raw material. At the same time it can remove the wastage and it can meet up the demand of the electricity.

Cost is lower than the nuclear power plant.

Comptition Analysis review: Competitors: Solar company New possible company Situation:

Still favorable In the future, Nuclear plant can be a threat for our company

Distribution Analysis: How to distribute: Need to import machine from Japan Then the initiator will take establish it in a factory. Single company will import it and distribute it

Action program

Possible initiator: Government, or interested private company, or both. Possible days to establish: 6 months. When to establish: After importing the necessary equipment, we will start installation and networking. Here we must consider the political, environmental and financial condition. Where you will build it: We will cover 8 EPZ ( Dhaka, Chittagong, mongla, comilla, uttora, ishwardi, adamjee, karnophuli. Action plan: we will take 6 months to set up the plants all over our country. In the January, we will but the necessary parts for the establishment of the plants, in February we will start to set up the plants and it will continue till April. Then in the month of may, we will make the promotional activities to make people aware of the plant and will show people the advantages of the plants. And hopefully we will start our work with the month of July.

Budget Each Power Plant Fixed Variable cost per Megawatt Profit Revenue $320 million $100 million 120 $ 20 million 120 million

Breakeven Point = Fixed Costs/(Unit Selling Price - Variable Costs) = $320 million/(120-100) =16 years

Others: Side effects:

Competitors : Traditional electricity company, solar company, Nuclear Power plant and possible industries. Concept: Here, we are using societal marketing concept, Problem if the raw material is in deficiency:

Marketing mix: Product: plant that will produce electricity from garbage Price: Unit selling price 120 Place: Bangladesh (Dhaka, Chittagong, mongla, comilla, uttora, ishwardi, adamjee, karnophuli) Promotion: Advertisement, Internet

Marketing strategies: Segmentation: geographical basis. We will divide the whole country on the basis of geographical area such as Dhaka, Chittagong, Mongla, Faridpur, Comilla etc.

Selecting and targeting: we have selected Dhaka, Chittagong, Mongla etc

Differentiation and Positioning: Our plant is different from others. Our plant is cheaper than other plants. Its environment friendly. This plant will save the environment from pollution. On the other hand this is a way to make a huge amount of electricity that is very much necessary for our country.

11

Marketing objective: 1) To make electricity 2) To use the garbage properly 3) To make people aware of the garbage

Financial objectives:
1) To make profit after 16 years, because the break even point is in the 16th year,

2) To improve the industries of our country 3) To improve the economic condition of our country

Control and evaluation: We will make a networking system among all the plant system, so that we can know about how all the plants are working. If any of the plants does not work properly then we will send the expertise to recover that plant. We will always keep a fund to but all the necessary parts when we will need that. We will select a head of department so that all the deparments can run smoothly. If any problem arises, the head of the department will take steps to solve that problem. We will check all the plants twice a year.

Waste Heat Could Double Battery Life on Laptops, Cell Phones When we utilize any gadget or means of comfort we know that these devices consume energy. But the energy is not utilized by devices. Some of the energy is lost in the form of friction or heat. For example when we are exploiting the power of computer processor chips, car engines or electric power plants there is a necessity of getting rid of excess heat otherwise the equipments will not perform at their optimal level. Now researchers are thinking about using this waste energy. Peter Hagelstein is the cowriter of this concept and an associate professor of electrical engineering at MIT. His paper was published in the November 2009 issue of the Journal of Applied Physics.

Waste as a Renewable Energy Source The enormous increase in the quantum and diversity of waste materials generated by human activity and their potentially harmful effects on the general environment and public health, have led to an increasing awareness about an urgent need to adopt scientific methods for safe disposal of wastes. While there is an obvious need to minimize the generation of wastes and to reuse and recycle them, the technologies for recovery of energy from wastes can play a vital role in mitigating the problems. Besides recovery of substantial energy, these technologies can lead to a substantial reduction in the overall waste quantities requiring final disposal, which can be better managed for safe disposal in a controlled manner while meeting the pollution control standards.
