Introduction
Why? Because the world is not flat. tentsile offers the comfort of a hammock with the accommodation capacity of a multi-person tent. No need for roll mats or to endure lumpy ground conditions! Ground conditions for conventional camping can limit site location choices but with tentsile, the sky really is the only limit.

What is tentsile?
tentsile is a suspended tent, taking inspiration from the natural world by mimicking a spider's web. Made from 3 weights of rip-stop nylon sheet fabrics, tentsile utilises the materials integral strengths for different sections of the tent body. tentsile offers comfortable sheltered accommodation in any environment and is the world's first suspended tent designed for use anywhere, by anyone.

tentsile can provide a low cost, effective accommodation solution to many humanitarian and natural disaster situations. As tentsile is suspended above ground level, there is no need to clear areas of dense foliage and can be easily erected over water logged ground, desert sands, and rocky landscapes.

Weight Capacity
tentsiles skeleton is made from webbing straps with a breaking strength of 2.5 tonnes. Type A is configured to take the weight of two adults and their luggage. 300 kg 660lbs

Brief Set-up Description


tentsile can currently be set up where there are 3 anchoring locations at high level. Each arm ends in a hook which is coupled to a tentioning cord and ratchet. Once the three cords have been ratcheted tight, a fourth cord is coupled to a groud anchor and ratcheted downwards, creating a tension space. Achoring points can be found in both rural and urban contexts. Trees make an ideal post for attachment but a simple loop plate fitting can be attached to the side of any building and even vehicles can provide the necessary fixing locations.

Set-up Time
As with most things, practice will reduce the time it takes to set up tentsile. In a new and untried location, Type A set up will take about 20-30 mins. This is reduced to 5mins if you have used the site before and know the locations of your high level attachment points.
