Amendment
The Government cannot establish a religion, and must allow people to exercise their religion freely Freedom of speech, press, and the right of the people to peaceably assemble.

Amendment
The right to form a Militia, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms.

Amendment
No Soldier shall be quartered (stay) at a house unless they have consent of the owner.

Amendment
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, Warrants can only be issued upon probable cause and signed by a judge.

Amendment
Cannot be charged with the same crime twice. You do not have to be a witness against yourself (the right to remain silent), nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law. Private property be taken for public use, without just compensation (eminent domain).

You have the right to a speedy and public trial, by an impartial jury You have the right to confront witnesses against you. You have the right to an attorney.

In civil cases if the value being sued for exceeds $20 than you have the right to a jury trial; however, you also have the right to waive this and have a judge preside over your case.
When the constitution was written $20 was a lot of money. This provision is carried out on the federal level but states dont necessarily honor the 7th amendment

Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishments inflicted.

Amendment
The enumeration in the Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny or disparage others retained by the people. Which means: You are not limited to just those rights that are listed in the constitution.

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people. Any power not given to the federal government and is not prohibited by states, gives the states the power.

Separated the election for President and Vice President. Electors could distinctly choose one person for President and one person for vice president. (John Adams and Thomas Jefferson) Outlines rules if a tie occurs. Was ratified in 1933 to have inauguration changed to January 20th.

Section 1. All persons born or naturalized in the United States, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside.
Equal Protection clause: No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Presidential succession:
If the President is removed/dies then the Vice President will become President. If the Vice President and the majority of the cabinet deem that the President is unable to complete his duties then they can petition congress and they would need a 2/3 vote.
