Administrative Filter
Policy Behavioral: Intellegent Resource/Infrastructure: Intellegent An acceptable use policy exists and must be signed by all students, faculty and staff. In addition to the acceptable use policy, all decisions regarding any new technology adoption is approved by the school board. Planning Behavioral: Integrated Resource/Infrastructure: Islands A three year technology plan exists for the entire district, which is approved by the school board. Although the plan exists, there is little review or further input from most stakeholders, and functions mostly as a set of goals which likely will not be met. Budget Behavioral: Emergent Resource/Infrastructure: Emergent Money for technology is approved on as needed basis. Updates for hardware do not have a formal budget. There is no constant recycle program to continually replace aging computers. Teachers often can request budget for small projects, although these are sometimes funded by grants or the teachers themselves. Administrative Information Behavioral: Integrated Resource/Infrastructure: Integrated The classroom teachers all must use the eSIS system for attendance and entering grades. Although the system can automate many tasks, many of these features are currently being underutilized. The system is available to all faculty and staff.

Curricular Filter
Electronic Information Behavioral: Islands Resource/Infrastructure: Integrated Each classroom has one computer, which is mostly used by the faculty, although some also incorporate it in classroom use. Some classrooms have Airliner remote control units that allow the students to take control. There are several computer labs in the building, varying from a business lab focused on Word Apps to a multimedia lab. Some classes, such as digital photography, meet in a lab each day. However, most instruction is still performed by traditional means. Assessment Behavioral: Emergent Resource/Infrastructure: Emergent Virtually all assessment is performed by traditional means. Ony technology usage related to assessment is the logging of grades in eSIS. Curricular Integration Behavioral: Emergent Resource/Infrastructure: Islands As detailed in Electronic Information, use of the labs is dependent on the subject area. Other labs, such as the library, can be scheduled. The two smart boards have limited impact on the student body as a whole. Teacher Use Behavioral: Emergent Resource/Infrastructure: Intellegent All teachers have a computer in their room, and access to several labs. However, regular use by most teachers is very rare, and dependent on the teachers preferences. Student Use Behavioral: Emergent Resource/Infrastructure: Intellegent The school uses Google Apps and all students have an associated email. Classes which regularly meet in labs, such as computer literacy, offer students regular access. The majority of students do not have direct access to technology on a daily basis.

Support Filter
Stakeholder Involvement Behavioral: Integrated

Resource/Infrastructure: Integrated All groups are involved in major planning, but this occurs on a limited basis. Often technology initiatives are pushed by individual teachers for use in their classroom. Some small decision are made with limited input from all. Administrative Support Behavioral: Islands Resource/Infrastructure: Islands Major technology initiatives involve the administration. Smaller initiatives are done without top-level administration involvement. No regular time is allocated for administrative support. Training Behavioral: Islands Resource/Infrastructure: Islands One full time tech support staff is available for training. Many of the staff participate in training, but there is no regularly scheduled training sessions, and staff are not required to attend training. Training is set up on an as needed or as requested basis. Technical & Infrastructure Support Behavioral: Islands Resource/Infrastructure: Intelligent One full time tech support staff is available for any technical or training needs. But usage is sporadic. Many do not contact the tech support person on a regular basis for assistance. This may be more reflective of the limited use of technology.

Connectivity Filter
Local Area Networking Behavioral: Islands Resource/Infrastructure: Islands All computers are networked, but usage is typically limited to printing. No voice or video conferencing technologies are utilized. Local Area Networking Behavioral: Islands Resource/Infrastructure: Islands All computers are networked, but usage is typically limited to printing. No voice or video conferencing technologies are utilized. District Area Networking Behavioral: Islands Resource/Infrastructure: Integrated

The district is networked with high-speed lines, which all share a partial T1 connection through the high school. Network functions between buildings is limited to very basic tasks. Internet Access Behavioral: Islands Resource/Infrastructure: Integrated All machines in the school are online. There are also several wifi hotspots in the school, although these are only accessible to faculty and staff. The faculty and staff mostly use only email. Some teacher will use multimedia projectors in the classroom to display Internet content. Personal student use is very limited. Communication Systems Behavioral: Integrated Resource/Infrastructure: Islands All students have access to email, although student access during school hours is limited by class. Email is frequently used by faculty and staff for many communications, but print materials are still also widely used.

Innovation Filter
New Technologies Behavioral: Islands Resource/Infrastructure: Islands Adaptation varies from teacher to teacher. Most innovative technologies are acquired by the specific teachers that request them. Funding is very limited, and teachers typically will pay themselves or apply for grants for larger purchases. Comprehensive Technologies Behavioral: Islands Resource/Infrastructure: Islands Several classrooms have multimedia projectors. The school also has two smart boards. A few classrooms make use of tablet remote controls. Some of the labs have more sophisticated equipment. Use is not uniform across the school.
