BHUTAN IN TRANSITION ECONOMY Bhutan, as we call the land of thunder dragon or the land locked country with snow

capped mountains buffered between the two huge countries China in the north and India at south for more than 100 years was ruled by Wangchuck dynasty (Present-His Majesty the fifth King of Bhutan Jigme khesar Namgyal Wangchuck) Monarch hereditary with not less than 700,000/- population until 2008 the government was reformed for better as Bhutan outlined its government to Democratic structure. And currently the government is ruled by DRUK PHUENTSHUM TSHOGPA with 45 members placed in parliament against the 2 of the opposition party election held in 2008 for the first time. Transition in economy for Bhutan moved in a very slow pace starting 1961 perhaps with lowest Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of $51 in the world. Since 2006 Bhutan saw a spectacular change with $1,200 GDP per capital income matching the speed of worlds fastest growing economics. In comparison to developing countries within South Asia like Maldives, Bangladesh and Nepal, Maldives places it position in first for GDP, Bhutan in Second and the rest two in line. Though the growth of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is better in Bangladesh than Bhutan which is second the investment still believes to grow economically slow. Bhutan the FDI is small because it is supposed that the Private Investments itself are low. Business environment it is presented that South Asia is the second least region where business exchange is favorable. The factor that contributes principally includes the poor infrastructure, restriction labor policy, weak regulatory system, corruptions and many more. As per world Bank www.doingbisiness.org report the global ranking for these above mentioned countries Maldives comes the foremost followed by Bangladesh in next, Nepal in third and Bhutan in least. With Transparency international, Berlin Corruption perception index (CPI) survey for 2006, 2007 and 2008 report the height of corruption and good governance seems clean in Bhutan among the three. With the study of the subject i.e. comparative study for institution design for transition economy and business management I suppose I would be able to situate new ideas as to how should I go about to bring new changes in the system in order to improve the current state of affairs. The most important objective at this juncture would be to take one step further for better outcome. Despite the fact that Bhutan lacks various positions in multiplicity of fields, the MBA program and the emerging realities where experience peoples understanding clubbed collectively will beyond doubt teach me how to conquer these problems. Specialization on the changes for Bhutan would not be an easy task as here after the study I would be contributing in little variation as to how should I facilitate my government in opening the doors for trade to outside countries although the exchange takes place at present. Mandating strong policies and regulations would be the priority number in the list because with these forms of regulations illegal businesses can never withstand the law of Bhutan. To diminish the height of corruption occurrence in the country would be the next mission as here I must be able to identify the cause and imperatively curb and root out the problems.

As of now where I work the National Pension and Provident fund of Bhutan, the journey have been satisfying.2006 after I graduated I worked under the capacity of Program Officer for Housing loan Scheme in Credit & Investment department. My career from than as program officer educated me the very fundamental of who I am as a person to exterior world. Customer service or say integrity in public service was the main purpose in our line of work. Managing people in-house and outhouse helped me gained the self-confidence in dealing variety of approach. With intensity of work and trust of public and management I moved my career level to officiating credit head where I had to administer the loan departments keeping in mind that the sentiments of the people were not harmed. Currently August 2010, being transferred to Head the Armed Forces Pension and Provident Fund division I saw a noble challenge where I get a hold of chance to covenant with different section of citizen which protects the security of the country. Different walks of people walk in everyday so in this case Equity and justice would be my area of specialization where I believe that will come from the study of the program MBA in depth and from the within itself. While pursuing the masters program, there wouldnt be any issues as such on the learning part from the side of the management. In fact NPPF would like to have in-house expertises that can advice on going concerns of the organization and its people as the whole. Therefore, the study and the specialization would definitely prepare my career further for betterment of the organization at the priority and subsequently my goals at the same.
