Parent Advocacy Coalition for Educational Rights (PACER) Has more than 3o projects that provide assistance to help families make educational decisions for their children with disabilities. Some projects and services include: Parent training workshops. Grandparent-to-Grandparent program. Early Childhood interventions.
Economic Supports
Social Security Administration Government organization that provides Supplemental Security Income (SSI). SSI is a program that pays benefits to adults and children with disabilities with limited income. Provides cash to meet basic needs for food, clothing, and shelter. Child Welfare Information Gateway Ensures each child has a permanent and nurturing home. Provides economic supports to families with children with disabilities to ensure their developmental, medical, academic, etc. needs are met.
National Dissemination Center for Children with Disabilities Provides a variety of information on disability laws, policies, services, and Special Education. Has information for families, communities, early intervention providers, and school administration. Provides information in multiple languages, too! www.NICHCY.org

Emotional Support
There are various groups throughout Champaign-Urbana that can assist families and provide emotional support. These include: Champaign County Down Syndrome Network Not for profit organization that serves families with members with Down Syndrome. Provides current information to parents. Provides a place for parents to network with other families who are facing similar obstacles in life.
www.champaigndsn.org C-U Autism Network Provides network of information and support for anyone working with someone on the Autism Spectrum. Hosts guest speakers who provide resources to group members (summer camps, legal advice, inclusion and advocacy, etc.)
