Similar deployment topology Native 64bit application. Still able to connect to 32bit data source drivers if needed. Default deployment is MS SQL Server 2008 and Tomcat 6 64bit New Paths for the web applications. The application build is very different. Full SDK not available until 4.1. CMC and BI Launch Pad are a single application application. Wdeploy GUI to help deployment and removal of web applications LifeCycle Manager (LCM) automatically deployed and Import Wizard is no longer available. All report promotion through this tool Upgrade Mgmt Tool Complete or incremental content move is available. Migrate f t t i il bl Mi t from XIR2 XIR2, XI3.0 or XI3.1 Client tools are separate and are not included in the server installation

Things to remember g
BOE 4.0 will be available end of Q2 2011 / Edge at the end of 2011 Desktop Intelligence is no longer supported. The conversion tools is still available but looks back at your XIr2/3 install and converts them to webi on BOE 4 QaaWS is being deprecated in SAP BusinessObjects Dashboards in later versions 64 bit platform needed to run BOE Better virtualization support but please work with DFT on licensing if you are not a new customer 64 bit SharePoint integration (IONS) will be release in a 4.0 support pack soon (not with the initial release candidate in May) Web applications are a single app and locking down the CMC will be more difficult
