Lesson Plans for April 16-20 Daily Lesson Plan Format: Monday Objectives: - go over grammar minute #72

(make up from last Friday) - understand the differences between the use of except/accept Materials: uncorrected grammar minutes to pass back - http://owl.english.purdue.edu/interactive/quiz/quiztest.html (to do as class) - Word document (attached below) - Pink poster for room - 3 question exit slip Procedures: correct grammar minute as class (4 min) - show document with short, direct explanation of the use of each word (3 min) - hang pink poster where students can see it, explain that it is there for them to use as a reference (1 min) - do grammar game online activity as class (minimum of 5 sentences, continue only depending on how well students are responding to activity) (3 min) - distribute 3 question exit slip for completion (1 min) Assessment: - 3 question exit slip Modifications and/or adaptations: - catch G and J up!!!!!! Reflection: (write a few notes about what went well and what didnt)

Objectives: - review and understand the differences between the uses accept and except - introduce where/wear/ware Materials: - word document from yesterday - swagg bear poster - ware word posters - where sentences - colored poster for room

Procedures: - introduce the three words (word doc below) (1 min) - explain each of their uses with their poster and hang (4 min) - class sentences activity (3 min) - each person write one sentence with the blank, give to partner to correct and returncollect (2 min) Assessment: - peer assessment activity Reflection: (write a few notes about what went well and what didnt)

Daily Lesson Plan Format: Wednesday Objectives: - how do negative words change meaning of sentences - proper use of negatives Materials: - Word document (attached below) - negative word store poster sheet for room Procedures: - show document with modifiers and how the negative words change the meaning of sentences (4 min) - hang negative word store and explain how it is used (1 min) - practice as a class to correct the sentences containing double negatives (3 min) - peer assessment activity (3 min) Assessment: - write a sentence with a double negative in it, give it to partner to correct and take it back to make sure they did it right! Reflection: (write a few notes about what went well and what didnt)

Objectives: - Grammar minute 75 (double negatives) Materials: - 6 copies of grammar minute exercise - Online document for corrections Procedures: - Distribute grammar minute and give to students to complete (2 min) - Correct worksheet on smartboard as a class

Assessment: - have them correct with a marker to evaluate scores after? Modifications and/or adaptations: Reflection: (write a few notes about what went well and what didnt)

Objectives: - in class practice Materials: - 10 question poster Procedures: (students know how to do this activity) - reiterate appropriate classroom behavior and teamwork for following activity (1 min) - Explain to students their objective- fill in the correct form of words in the blank and edit the double negative sentences (5 min) - Check answers! (1 min) Assessment: - evaluate their corrections Reflection: (write a few notes about what went well and what didnt)
