USAGE
Present simple Present Simple is used to express frequent and repeated events. Example:
They playfootball every day. She washes the car every morning. We sometimes read a book. She goes shopping twice a week. You never play chess. Mary often writes letters.
Present Continuous Present Continuous is used to express events that take place at the moment of speaking: Example:
She playing football at the moment. They are talking on the phone now. Mary is washing the car now. We are reading a book now. Mary is writing a letter at the moment.
Present Simple is used to express permanent events and universal truths: Example:
They live at Flower Street number 11. She works in a factory. The flowers smell lovely. The sun sets in the west and rises in the east. Water boils at 100 degrees.
Adverbs used:
every day / week/ month / year/summer/Monday usually often always sometimes; rarely; seldom once a day/ week/month/ year twice a day/week / month/ year three times a day/ week/ month/ year never every other week
Adverbs used:
now right now at present at the/ this moment for the moment today this week / month/ year temporarily recently nowadays
