STEWARDSHIP MOMENT
If you want something done, then do it! Don't just sit there and talk about it. Such words largely reflect the work ethic of our society. However, words can also apply to us as Stewards of the Gospel. Love is not something simply to be talked about. It is to be lived. Real love for God takes work, commitment, and trust in the Lord.
Gold Budget
In the bulletin last weekend for the mid year update, the Total Column was incorrect - showing a higher amount for Sunday collections and 0 for tuition and fees. Total should show 328,013.00 for Sunday collections and 69,813.00 for tuition and fees. Sorry for the error. Finance Council

The American Cancer Society Relay for Life is a way to raise money for cancer research and increase awareness of services available to cancer patients, their families, and our communities. The event will be held at Montini Catholic High School (19W070 16th Street, Lombard) on the track beginning Fri., June 8th at 6 p.m. with the Opening Ceremony and the Cancer Survivors Victory Lap. Teams begin walking after the Cancer Survivors Victory Lap and continue throughout the event. Relay for Life is an overnight event because cancer never sleeps, so for one night, neither will we. At dusk, a candlelight Luminaria Ceremony is held to honor cancer survivors and to remember those who have lost their battle against cancer. This ceremony is open to the public. The Closing Ceremony begins Sat., June 9th at 5:30 a.m. I will be participating in this event and am asking for your help in the form of donations. During hospitality, on May 5th and 6th, I will be collecting donations and selling luminarias. Everyone has been touched by cancer, either through their own personal battle or through someone they love. Please help me in the fight to end cancer! Song is not an interruption to prayer, song is the best kind of prayer. St Augustine said: The one who sings once, prays twice. Worship has always included song. The psalms are songs and most of what we sing now has the Book of Psalms as its source. Our external response in song is only one dimension of our participation. Perhaps even more important is uniting oneself to what is being sung so we can together raise our thoughts to God. Even if we cannot sing (for whatever reason) we should be following the words of our song prayer so we are united as one family in our praise of God. Our job is to sing the songs, to witness to our faith to one another through our singing, and to encourage others to do the same through our enthusiastic song. It is important that we support one another in song and that we hear one another and are not overwhelmed by electronic amplification or muted by sound-absorbing materials. Singing together is an important element of the liturgy which transforms us from independent individuals to a unified worshiping body. If we feel we do not sing well, we can always remember that Psalm 95:1 invites us to make a "joyful noise" in our praise of God.

Land. You will follow Peter from Galilee to Jerusalem and to Rome. Why would Jesus choose a rugged, uneducated fisherman to lead His Church? The New Testament brings forth numerous examples of the primacy of Peter and the special prerogatives given to Peter by Jesus Christ. We will discover answers about the major role of Peter and the Papacy instituted by Jesus in the Saga of salvation, presented by Steven Ray, best seller author, dynamic speaker and convert to Catholic faith.
