Introduction
GO KART, a courier and freight management company seeks to make their pickup scheduling and shipment tracking services online. The module being proposed will be a part of courier system and can be accessed from companys website. Using Freight Management System business reaches out to remote areas, provides pickup from doorstep, a facility that is just an online request away, customer can schedule a pickup and track it too from e-FMS. The scheduling form lets the user enter the number of packets, address to be picked up from, time window and the destination address. The user will not get any updates regarding the shipment tracking. It will be difficult to trace the lost packets and consumes more time to deliver at the customers side.

Proposed Solution
In order to overcome these problems an online application is being developed with the following tasks: An online application which schedules a list of pickup locations. List of pickup locations are displayed from which the user can select. The rates as per weight and destinations are to maintained for users reference.

Problem Statement
Existing System is a manual system where the following tasks have to be done manually. Schedule a pickup of shipment from a list of location serviced by GO KART. Maintain a list of pickup locations from which the users can select.

The pickup and cash payment happens offline. Offline activity includes weighting of the shipment, checking of packing material. The cost arrived at can be verified online. The temporary number is assigned to the shipment which can be used to link to the actual tracking number. The user gets an email for the shipment processing and the actual tracking number. The application will be able to generate a statement of pickups during a day or selected period, displaying total amount of cash collected.
