reservoir provenance for fan systems. Erosion of the prograding delta systems occurs during periods of sea lt-vt.; fall (lowstand systems tract) and the resultant erosional products are transported and deposited out in the basin a s basin floor fans or on the shelf margin a s slope fans. Deposition during lowstands is important for prospectivity a s well sorted sands may be transported out in to the basin and deposited within potential source rocks and seals. Within the Middle Miocene section of Yemahnaung-1 slope fan sands have been identified correlating to the Middle Miocene delta system to the east. Several sequence boundaries are identified both within the well and from seismic (Fig. 19) and each may have associated distal erosional products producing the potential for stacked pay.
A chronostratigraphic diagram has been produced, from the seismic and well data, orientated west to east from Myeik-1 onto the platform (Fig. 20). The major transgression at the top of the Lower Miocene is evident a t 15.0 Ma. and the Middle Miocene delta system can be seen to back step to the east. In general the relative thickness of the progradational sequences is shown to decrease u p through the Miocene relating to a decrease in sediment supply or reduction in accommodation space due to the transgression.

Regional Prospectivity
A schematic diagram highlighting the potential prospectivity of the Andaman Sea Basin on a regional scale is presented a s Fig. 21. The potential play types identified are listed below:

Basement high Carbonate platforms (Yadana Field & M 15 to M18) Lower Miocene pinch-out (tested by Dawei- 1) Miocene compactional roll over on Basement high Lower Miocene tilted fault block (Yetagun Field) Apron fan system Middle Miocene rotated delta front sands Miocene slope and basin floor fans Middle Miocene sands truncation by Top Miocene unconfonnity Incised valley Submarine canyon Plio-Pleistocene tilted fault block, up-thrown trap (AZY-1, ALB- 1) Plio-Pleistocene tilted fault block, down-thrown trap Plio-Pleistocene horst block (ATZ-1) Plio-Pleistocene 4 way roll over due to listric fault movement (SPH-1) Rim syncline and pinch out of Plio-Pleistocene against shale diapir Flower structure (Zagawa-1) Having identified the potential for a number of plays on a regional scale this model has been applied to the Substitution Area in trying to identify potential prospectivity.

Prominent sequence boundary development in the delta causing erosion. Potential slope fan deposits identified in offset wells and seismic. Major transgressions at 9.2 & 15.0 Ma. providing regional top and base seals. Stratigraphic trapping of fan sands within the Middle Miocene source rock.
Six prospects have been identified within the Middle Miocene fairway, two of which a e constrained by 3D data. One prospect, MFl, is considered ready for r drilling. Prospect definition and interpretation of depositional environments have been greatly aided by the 3D data set, in particular the use of seismic attribute mapping. The prospects are known as the MF ("Miocene Fan") group and are numbered from 1 to 6 and are described below:

9.8.1 MF1 Prospect

A seismic data example is presented a s Fig. 5 3 and prospect maps are presented

as Fig. 54 and Enc. 15. The MF1 prospect primarily lies within the Yetagun 3D data area approximately 2.5 kms. west of Yetagun North-1 and covers a n area of approximately 56 sq. krns. Due to the 3D data coverage seismic attributes, in particular amplitudes, have been used to define the prospect in detail. The prospect occurs a s a distinct area of high amplitudes, both in map view and section (Figs. 55 & 56), which have been forward modelled a s a gas charged, high porosity sand. A gas water contact (GWC) has been recognised to the west of the limit of the 3D data from flat spots occurring on the 2D data (Fig. 56). The mapped flat spot correlates to a constant depth contour increasing confidence in the interpretation of a GWC (Fig. 57). The crest of the prospect occurs at approximately 8,400 ft. with the interpreted GWC at approximately 10,600 ft. The prospect dips to the west a t a present day angle of 10 degrees, with the interpreted reservoir pressure lying below the fracture gradient of the encasing Middle Miocene shale. The trapping mechanism is predominantly an up-dip stratigraphic trap although the north-east crest of the structure is closed by the Yetagun North fault, with the Middle Miocene shale providing the top and base seal. The Yetagun North fault has been proved to seal by the YN-1 discovery.

In addition AVO cross plotting analysis has corroborated the interpretation of gas charged sand causing the high amplitudes, but also indicates that a possible oil rim may be present on the structure, down dip of the flat spot, although further work is recommended to confirm this.
9.8.2 M 2 Prospect F
A seismic data example is presented a s Fig. 58 and prospect maps are presented

a s Fig. 59 and Enc. 16. The MF2 prospect has been mapped solely from 2D seismic data and covers an area of approximately 80 sq. kms. The prospect has been defined by mapping a n area of amplitude anomalies with mounded seismic character. Two levels of high amplitude reflectors are present and have been termed MF2 high and MF2 low. The prospect is located to the east of Myeik-1 in the hanging wall of the

Myeik fault block and it is presumed that sands have been "ponded" into this graben. The depth of the Prospect High ranges from approximately 11,600 ft. to 14,000 ft., with the Prospect Low approximately 500 ft. deeper. The depth of the prospect carries a risk of reduced reservoir quality due to compaction and high temperatures and over pressure. The trapping mechanism is stratigraphic with the Middle Miocene shale providing the top and base seal.
9.8.3 MF3 Prospect

A seismic data example is presented a s Fig. 60 and prospect maps are presented a s Fig. 61 and Enc. 17. The prospect is identified solely from 2D data and is located within a graben approximately 20 km. due west of Dawei-1. The prospect covers an area of approximately 180 sq. kms. and exhibits high amplitudes, section thickening and down lapping events indicative of fan deposition. Depth of the prospect varies from 5,800 ft. to 7,000 ft. The trapping mechanism is interpreted to be both stratigraphic and fault controlled in part to the east, with the Middle Miocene shale providing the top and base seal.
9.8.4 MF4 Prospect

A seismic data example is presented a s Fig. 62 and prospect maps are presented a s Fig. 63 and Enc. 18.

MF4 has been mapped solely from 2D seismic and occurs as a number of high amplitude reflectors and on one strike line with a very clear mounded, chaotic seismic geometry indicative of a basin floor fan (Fig. 63). The prospect covers a n area of approximately 130 sq. kms. and is deposited in a graben to the north east of M12-B 1. The depth of the prospect ranges from 1 1,600 ft. in the east, to 21,000 ft further into the basin to the west. The depth of the prospect carries a risk of reduced reservoir quality due to compaction and high temperatures and over pressure. The prospect is stratigraphically trapped with the Middle Miocene shale providing top and base seal.
9.8.5 MF5 Prospect

A seismic data example is presented a s Fig. 64 and prospect maps are presented a s Fig. 65 and Enc. 19.

The MF5 prospect has only 2D data coverage but is recognised a s a distinct amplitude anomaly, both in map view and section (Figs 65 & 66). The aerial limits of the prospect have been mapped from seismic amplitudes, seismic character and pinch out limits and cover a n area of approximately 60 sq. kms. The trapping mechanism is purely stratigraphic with the Middle Miocene shale
