Term paper: Every trainee will be required to write a term paper in the form of technical report based on the observations and experiences gathered during the onsite visits, on job training as well as the theory classes conducted during the semester. The term paper neatly typed and loose bound will be submitted by each trainee. The Power point presentation will be given by respective trainees in the presence of colleagues before the panel of judges for the assessment.

Each Trainee will be required to carry out a project work in the form of live problem identification, its analysis, synthesis and recommendations in the form of conclusions. The project work will be carried out under the guidance of faculty from or outside the institute. The final outcome of the project work shall be submitted by the trainee in the form of project report. Report should be submitted within due date in the prescribed format neatly typed and spiral bound. The evaluation of the project work will be on the basis of quality of project report in terms of its contents, research and presentation.

ATTENDANCE
1. Attendance: Minimum 75% attendance is must for being eligible to appear in semester examinations 2. Candidates with poor performance in sessional examinations(continuous assessment) may not be allowed to appear in the end semester examinations & may have to take fresh admission in the next batch

EXAMINATION AND EVALUATION


1. The trainee will be evaluated continuously during the period of training in the form of class test/sessional exams and Viva Vice. 2. There shall be end semester examination as per the schedule 3. Based on the attendance/sessional exam criteria, the candidate declared ineligible for appearing the end semester examination will not be allowed to appear the in end semester examination.

ELIGIBILITY OF PASSING AND GRADES FOR PG/PD COURSES


1. Minimum passing marks in theory will be 40%, in sessional 60% and viva-vice will be 50%. 2. In case a trainee gets less than 60% marks the sessional examination, she/he will not be eligible to appear in the end semester examination. 3. Minimum passing percentage in total will be 50% in each subject. 4. A maximum of 5 (Five) grace marks per semester will be given for passing of theory/practical/Viva vice to the best advantage of the student .These grace marks will not be added anywhere in the mark sheet, however mention will be made in the mark sheet that candidate has passed with the grace marks. 5. If a candidate fails in the semester examination, either in theory or in practicals or due to deficiency in overall passing percentage, he/she will have to re-appear in the corresponding paper/practical examination in the forthcoming/next semester examination. 6. The division shall be awarded as follows: Candidates securing marks between 50.00 64.99% will be awarded second division Candidates securing marks between 65.00 74.99% will be awarded first division

PROMOTION TO THE NEXT HIGHER SEMESTER Candidate failing in more than two theory OR practicals will not be promoted in the higher semester. Maximum of 2 more attempts will be given to unsuccessful candidates to pass the examinations.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS 1. The students admitted to the institute will be governed by the conduct and discipline of the institute as laid down from time to time 2. Students are answerable to the Director/Principal of the institute for their conduct in public and at the institute 3. Student should be punctual and regular in taking classes during the academic session 4. Continuous absence of student for more than 7 days without prior permission may lead to cancellation of admission from the institute. 5. Each student will be required to carry his/her identity card in Institute and plant premises. 6. Use of mobile phone in classrooms and Plant workshops is strictly prohibited. 7. Alcohol consumption, smoking and chewing of tobacco are strictly prohibited in Institute, plant and hostel premises. 8. Any student found using absurd websites/pornography in the computer lab will be immediately expelled from the course. 9. Breakage, damage and theft of any items belonging to the institute will be recovered from the person responsible for it. 10. Management decision will be final and binding on the students in all matters pertaining to the institute .Management holds the rights to amend the rules from time to time and the same will be applicable to all the students. 11. Safety is of prime importance for Jindal group so every individual should follow safety rules in plant premises.
