A world of experience
From the worlds rst commercial CO2 membrane plant for CO2 recovery in EOR applications (SACROC) to the worlds largest CO2 membrane plant for natural gas clean-up (700 MMscfd, Cakerwala Gas Field Development - Petronas Carogali Triton Operating Company) Cynara Membrane Systems, a NATCO Group technology continues to lead the industry with state of the art CO2 Membrane Separation Systems. Cynara designs and provides custom membrane pre-treatment equipment, membrane systems, eld operations and Onshore and offshore, the largest installed base of equipment by volume world-wide Turnkey projects, dehydrating the gas and recovering liquid hydrocarbons, as well as separating the CO2 High-capacity projects of 700 million cubic feet per day and higher CO2 inlets from 5% to 85%, outlets from 1.5% to 50% World leader in membrane technology for EOR applications

support services for major oil and gas companies worldwide. Cynara systems, processes, and people have established themselves as the industry leader. with operating facilities in the US, Canada, Southeast Asia and Argentina With ongoing experience in own and operate plants, customer facilities operation, and eld service support, NATCO/Cynara knows the real world needs and concerns of the customer. With this vast experience, NATCO/Cynara can recommend the most economical and reliable solution, whether it is a standalone membrane system or a hybrid system with other separation technologies. Since their rst installation in 1983, Cynara Systems have established an impressive track record for the industry. NATCO owned and operated SAROC facility keep working every day with minimal downtime. The average availability maintained since startup is 99 percent. From this operating experience and success, NATCO understands membrane systems better than anyone.
This experience assures customers that they can depend on NATCO to provide the performance and efciency that they demand in a separation system. It also allows NATCO to anticipate and deliver the customized solutions required to enhance the customers ability to compete.

Features
Low installed cost Low operating cost Environmentally friendly Operational exibility Process exibility
Benets
Skid mounted packages allow for reduced installation cost. Installation savings due to small footprint and lightweight skids. Ideal for remote locations and offshore applications Minimum operator attention No external energy supplied No chemicals required: No chemical storage No chemical disposal Flexible operation. Accommodates variations in feed gas composition and owrate. Large turndown capability. The membrane system can be applied to grass root facilities as well as modifying existing facilities. Capacity can be added incrementally with clients to optimize membrane systems for specic applications Enhanced troubleshooting Rapid implementation of new ber or element design 20 years of membrane application and operation experience.
Central residual collection tube Module casing
Cynaras membrane modules consist of hundreds of thousands of asymmetric hollow bers. Epoxy tube sheets on each end of the ber bundle and o-rings are used to separate feed and permeate gas. Pressurized gas ows into the membrane case, where it contacts the ber bundle. Gas ows radially inward. As the gas traverses the bundle, CO2 selectively permeates the ber into the low pressure lumen of the ber. The residual gas continues across the bundle and is collected in a central perforated tube. There are many inherent advantages of this design. The hollow ber technology maximizes surface area per unit volume relative to competing membrane technology. Double ended permeate ow minimize pressure drop down the lumen of the ber maximizing separation performance. The vertical orientation of the hollow bers combined with the central collection tube and the unique ability of cellulose acetate to withstand condensing hydrocarbons allow for efcient handling of hydrocarbon liquids. In fact, hydrocarbon liquids are a valuable product for many customers. The Cynara element is the only membrane element that combines all of these features into a single device. By centralizing related services-membrane manufacturing, R&D, testing, quality control, engineering and NATCO manufacturing capabilities, NATCO achieves economies of scale, quality control, product availability and a level of product responsibility not possible through an outside supplier or multiple suppliers. These capabilities mean that NATCO provides customers with better products and services in the following ways: Full control of scheduling Constant quality upgrades by working
