What is a hazard?

is a situation that is characterized by the "feasibility of occurrence of a potentially harmful incident", is an event capable of creating damage to protected rights. The danger is real" when it exists here and now, and is "potential" when there is no danger now, but we know that there may be short, medium, or long, depending on the nature of the causes that create danger. What are examples of a hazard?

Dormant - The situation has the potential to be dangerous, but are not yet affected or persons or property or the environment. For example, a hillside may be unstable with the potential for a landslide, but there is nothing under the hill that could be affected. Potential - Also known as "Armed", this is a situation where the danger is in a position to affect people, property or the environment. This type of threat usually requires a risk assessment later. Active - The danger certainly cause damage, since it is not possible to intervene after the incident occurs. Mitigated - A potential hazard has been identified, but have taken steps to ensure that it does not become an incident. There may be no absolute guarantee of no risk, but clearly have taken steps to significantly reduce the danger. Public - A public danger posed is the moral or physical harm to persons, such as an epidemic, natural disaster, a murderer, a psychopath, What is risk? is the vulnerability of "protected rights" of a possible or potential injury or harm to people and things, particularly for the environment. Occupational hazard Risk of accident Disease risk geological risk Earthquakes or Earthquakes (in America) / Earthquake (in Spain) volcanic Eruptions Landslide financial risk Credit Risk Liquidity Risk Market Risk Operational Risk Reputational Risk biohazard viral infection epidemic Hazardous Biological Materials Highly pathogenic microscopic agents

What is a risk assessment?

is one of the steps used in a process of risk management. The risk R is evaluated by measuring the two parameters that determine the magnitude of the loss or damage as possible L, and the probability p that such loss or damage from happening. Risk assessment is probably the most important step in a process of risk management, and also the most difficult step and most likely to make mistakes. Once the risks have been identified and evaluated, the subsequent steps to prevent them from occurring, protect them or mitigate their consequences are much more programmatic. Part of the difficulty in managing risk is that the measurement of two parameters that determine the risk is very difficult. The uncertainty associated with the measurement of each of the two parameters (L p) is usually large. Risk management also would be simpler if it were possible to have a single metric that reflects in measuring all available information. However this is not possible, as are attempts to measure two quantities. Avery large risk of loss or damage and a low probability of occurrence must be treated differently than a risk with a small amount of loss or damage and a high probability of occurrence. In theory the two risks identified have an identical priority for treatment, but in practice is quite difficult to manage when faced with limitations on available resources, especially time to carry out the risk management process. What is an adverse health effect? A change in physiological function or structure of cells that can cause diseases or health problems. Will exposure to hazards in the workplace always cause injury, illness or other adverse health effects?

yes

What types of hazards are there?

Risks that can be usually found in the workplace include: chemical hazards, due to liquids, solids, dusts, fumes, vapors, gases; physical hazards such as noise, vibration, unguarded machinery, poor lighting, radiation, extreme temperatures (hot or cold); biological hazards, caused by bacteria, virus infestations, infectious waste; psychological risks, due to stress and pressure; not applying the principles of ergonomics, resulting in the existence of machines andtools poorly designed or improper work practices.
