OPPORTUNITIES

THREATS
Due to increase in oil prices, people use other means of energy like CNG, LPG etc. TPPL not did a formal Agreement with Attock Refinery Limited; they can suspend supplies without giving prior notice. Increasing prices of oil. Increase oil prices also increases OMCs margins but this is a threat because people find other alternatives. Consumers changing behavior due to increase in price Increasing competitions as new companies getting into the market Quota system from the supplier/ Refinery
1. Upstream The upstream sector is the portion of the industry involved in extracting the oil and gas from below the ground until it reaches the surface. This part of the industry incurs the most risk because of the uncertainty in finding gas in commercially producible quantities and the capital intensive methods needed to extract it (drilling). Recent technological advances, including 2-D and 3-D computer modeling, have reduced the uncertainties a great deal 2. Midstream Upstream portion of supply chain provide crude oil to refineries. Refineries are located all over the world and closer to final consumers. The main reason for this fact is the economies of scale of transporting crude oil in big supertankers versus transporting the final product in smaller lots, and the strategic value of the refining assets. This latter fact makes governments prefer having some of the refinery operations in their territories. Pakistan has also many refineries to fulfill their local demand and achieving economies. Major refineries are o o o o o National Refinery Limited (NRL) Attock Refinery Kimited (ARL) PARCO Bosicar Pakistan Refinery Limited (PRL)
3. Downstream The downstream supply chain is usually characterized as a mature, rather competitive, and complex supply chain. Downstream supply chain highly effected with temperature. For this supply chain, logistics pays very vital role in this supply chain. Three transportation mood are used in this stream, namely Rail Tank lorry Pipeline
