Ernesto Guevara De La Serna, better known as el Che,was born in Argentina in 1928, he was a doctor and he was a member of the cuban revolution. He also fought in Africa and Bolivia, where he was killed by the bolivian army in 1967. The CIA asked the army for them to kill him. He became a symbol of justice, equality and fight.

Juan Manuel Fangio was born in Argentina in 1911. He was an important F1 pilot. His teams were Mecedes-Benz, Alfa Romeo, Ferrari and Maserati. He won five F1 world championships. He is the second biggest champion in the world, after Schumacher.

Mercedes Sosa, was born in 9 July 1935 and died in 4 October 2009. Known as La Negra, was an Argentine singer who was popular throughout South America and some countries outside the continent. With her roots in Argentine folk music,Sosa became one of the preeminent exponents of this country. She gave voice to songs written by both Brazilians and Cubans. She was best known as the "voice of the voiceless ones".

Norberto Napolitano (Pappo) was born in Santa Isabel, province of Santa Fe. Since his youth he felt great interest in music. His early influences were The Rolling Stones, Freddie King, Jimi Hendrix, and Eric Clapton.

During the late 60's and throughout the 70's, he was part of the so called argentinian rock. Started being an occasional guitarist but soon became part of Los Gatos and Los abuelos de la Nada. In 1971, he formed "Pappo's Blues" and that same year he released his first album. He was also part of the 1973 documentary "Hasta que se ponga el sol". Between 1975 and 1978 he lived in England, where he was in contact with new genres such as punk rock and the new wave of heavy metal. On his return in 1978, he formed "Aeroblus". But soon changed to form Riff, which is considered one of the most representative bands of argentine rock of the 1980's. In the 1990's, he returned with Pappos blues and also held brief reunions of Riff. Early in the decade of 2000, he published some solo album with a classic sound of blues and hard rock. He died in February 2005 in a car accident. The municipality of the City of Buenos Aires dedicated a monument in his honor. CARLOS GARDEL: was a singer, songwriter and actor, and is perhaps the most prominent figure in
the history of tango. The unerring musicality of Gardel's baritone voice and the dramatic phrasing of his lyrics

made miniature masterpieces of his hundreds of three-minute tango recordings.

EVA PERN: Her real name was Mara Eva Duarte de Pern but she is often referred to simply as
Evita. She became powerful within the pro-Peronist trade unions, primarily for speaking on behalf of labor rights. She also ran the Ministries of Labor and Health, founded and ran the charitable Eva Pern Foundation, championed women's suffrage in Argentina, and founded and ran the nation's first largescale female political party, the Female Peronist Party.

JORGE LUIS BORGES: was a short-story writer, essayist, poet and translator born in Buenos Aires.
His work embraces the "character of unreality in all literature".His works have contributed to the genre of science fiction as well as the genre of magic realism, a genre that reacted against the realism/naturalism

of the nineteenth century.

LUIS ALBERTO SPINETTA: was an Argentine musician. As one of the most influential rock
musicians of South America, together with Charly Garca he is considered the father of Argentine rock. He was born in Buenos Aires in the residential neighbourhood of Belgrano. In 1967,

amidst the repressive political climate, he formed a band called Almendra with his own school

mates.

RENE FAVALORO: was an Argentine cardiac surgeon best known for his pioneering work on coronary

artery bypass surgery.

ASTOR PIAZZOLLA: was an Argentine tango composer and bandonen player. He revolutionized
the traditional tango into a new style termed nuevo tango, incorporating elements from jazz and classical music. A virtuoso bandoneonist, he regularly performed his own compositions with a variety of

ensembles.
