Is 0 Rational Or Irrational Zero is several sorts of numbers. It is actually both. "Real numbers", "Rational numbers", "irrational numbers", "integers", "trancendental numbers", "cardinal numbers" and so forth, all have their own definitions. Irrational numbers belong to the set of two dimensional numbers of the vector form a + b x i where i is the square root of -1. 0 = 0 + 0 x i so zero is also a member of this SET Integers are the set of normal counting numbers both positive, negative and 0. Even a big, clunky fraction like 7,324,908/56,003,492 is rational, simply because it can be written as a fraction. Every whole number is a rational number, because any whole number can be written as a fraction. For example, 4 can be written as 4/1, 65 can be written as 65/1, and 3,867 can be written as 3,867/1.

An irrational number has endless non-repeating digits to the right of the decimal point.
