Butattheendofitweneedtocrystalizeconceptsthatwecoulduseasageneralworkingmodelfor modelrnleadershipasseenintheirexamples. Thisconceptwecancallresponsiblestewardship(wilayatulUmmah),sinceleadershipisatrust (amanah)fromAllah.Delvingonscripturalsourceswillnotbedoneinthisbriefnoteasmanyhave alreadydonethat,ourfocusisonlytodelvedirectlyonwhatthemainfocalpointsare. ManasthestewardofAllahonearth(khilafahtullahfilard)hasseveralmaintasksbeforehim: FirstishisdutytoAllahthesourceoflifeandcreation.Onemustrememberthatthereisalsoalegal maxim,thatdelegatedauthoritycannotbedelegatedfurther,assuch,ouramanahfromAllahuta'ala ashiscustodianoftheearthcannotbesomplydelegatedbutmustebperformedaswellasinperson. Secondishisrelationshioptohisfellowmen,Manistheguardianofhisfellow,whichmeansthathe mustnotonlylookafterhisownwelfarebutthewelfareofhisfellowmenandsociety,thisdoesnot merelyrefertohisfellowMuslimsbuttothewholecommunitythatliesbeforehim.aglanceatthefirst constitutionknownastheMadinachartershowsthatduringthetimeoftheprophet(saw),legislation andrightsofthenonMuslimsandnonMuslimstateswerealreasyconsideredapartofonesregular dealingsasaMuslim Thirdishisconcernfortheenvironment.Wemustrememberthatweborrowthisenvironmentfrom ourgrandchildrenandassuchwemustprotectit,fortheenvironmentistheveryearth(ard)welive in. Fourthishisconcernformaterialthings,rememberthatonesrelationshiptophysicalthingsisbut temporalandthatthesethingsarefortheproductiveuseofmanandnotforthepursuitofevil,man thereforemustutilizethemonlyforthebeneficialandgoodpurposethatAllahhasmadeforthem. fifthisthathehasadutytohimslef,onemustrememberthatdespiteallthegoodonedoestoothers, onemusttakecareofoneselfandonesfamilytosecurehimselfandhisfamilyfrom"fitna"(trials)in ordertoensurethatonebowstothewillofAllahuta'ala.
