Paragraph introduction to Interpersonal skills: Interpersonal skills are the life skills we use every day to communicate and interact with other
people, individually and in groups. Interpersonal skills include not only how we communicate with others, but also our confidence, and our ability to listen and understand. Problem solving, decision making and personal stress management are also considered interpersonal skills.

Strength/how you use this skill


I use this skill by listening in lessons to teachers & understanding what theyre saying. Staying focused throughout the lesson, making sure all distractions are blocked out. Asking questions shows the speaker that you are paying attention. I use this skill all the time when writing out a piece of document. For example what I am writing now. Is what Im writing structured, is it a suitable style, does it contain all the content needed. When writing curriculum vitae you use content which relates to you which the employee is

How it can be developed


This can be developed by when you talk to friends, really engage in the conversation. Listening to them when they are speaking, not interrupting. Being alert to my body language and show a positive language when speaking to someone. Ask a friend to watch you and assess you when listening to someone. This can be developed by writing different types of documents, such as a report, letters, and presentations. I can ask an English teacher to analyze the work and whether it is suited for its need, even asking a friend to help. Listening skills

Listening is not just hearing what someone is saying. But understanding what someone is talking about. Listening means not just paying attention to the story, but how it being told, the use of language and voice, how the other person uses his or hers body. Being aware of verbal and non verbal messages. Written Communication involves expressing yourself clearly, using language with precision; constructing a logical argument; note taking, editing and summarizing. There are three main elements: 1) structure, 2) style 3) content. The way in which you layout your content, how much information do I need, do I need to talk about specific things, how formal or informal does it needs to be.

Unit 1, Task 7: Interpersonal skills review looking for. each paragraph, narrow down to unimportant facts, checking for spelling, read it out allowed to someone, do my second draft & ask someone to check for ill calculated mistakes. I can develop this by being clear and concise, varying my tone, pace and volume. Backing up ideas by logic and not trying to blag. Making a speech on front of a big audience for e.g. in assembly. Presenting my message in an interesting way, structuring my presentation, using audio visual aids effectively and building a rapport with the audience.

Verbal communication skills

Effective spoken communication requires being able to express your ideas and views clearly, confidently and concisely in speech. Tailoring your content & style to your audience. Engaging in formal and non formal conversation, such as talking to a customer in relation to a friend.

This is a skill which I use every day. When talking to teachers, friends, family etc. When talking to a teacher I would speak slowly and concisely so that he/she understands what I am saying. As of talking to a friend, using slang instead of the correct terminology.

Non verbal communication skills

I use this skill when I talk to Nonverbal communication, or body friends & teachers. When language, is a vital form of communication. engaging in a conversation & This is when we show our communication Im listening to someone. They through our body language. it includes will expect me to stand facial expressions, body movements, and straight, looking at them etc. gestures. Nonverbal communication is This shows them that I am talking without speaking a word. It is very interesting in what theyre effective, maybe even more so than speech. saying. I can ask a friend to help me develop this skill by making myself aware of my body language, when talking to them. This can also be done using a teacher or a person in my family.

Computerized communication skills

This is using technology to communicate, whether it is through e-mailing, face book, twitter, blogging etc. Using internet to communicate to people is at its peak in the industry.

I use this skill to communicate with friends at home. When I am emailing work to my teacher, this skill is being used. Uploading work online to my blog every week for other people to see is another way in which this skill is used.

This can be developed by carrying on using the internet to upload work and emailing. I use face book regularly so I am always learning something new. Asking teachers to help you to find ways of using the internet effectively & improve my personal communication skills.
