Masters of Science in Electronic Engineering With Merit The University of Sheffield, UK 20082009 The final project was modeling, simulating and implementing control system design and implementation of a brushless AC drive. The modeling of the drive system was undertaken using Matlab / Simulink in conjunction with Power System Toolbox, and the realization of the drive control including pulse width modulation (PWM) was implemented using dSpace system. The control strategy developed was first being verified by performing hardware in loop (HIL) simulation before real-time implementation. GRE (Quantitative 790/800, Qualitative 480/800) 2008

Bachelors of Science in Electronic Engineering GIK Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology, Pakistan

Designed a Heliostat as my final year project. It was a closed loop system that focused solar light onto a stationary target. It positioned itself according to the suns position to achieve the desired function. The system had two degrees of freedom, and used microcontrollers to execute the solar position algorithm and adjust the mirrors accordingly.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS Junior Electrical Engineer Pakistan Engineering Services, Dasu Hydro Power Project, Pakistan November 2011 To Date Working in conjunction with the electrical team on Dasu mega hydro power project Responsible for load flow analysis, short circuit analysis, single line diagrams and for the calculation of critical parameters for the generators, transformers, circuit breakers and other auxiliary equipment Conducting load variation and fault conditions, full load rejection and system stability analysis Responsible for project planning including scheduling, development of work breakdown structure and linear responsibility charts Other responsibilities include preparation of power house drawings, power and control cables requirement and schematics and coordination with NTDC power planning Prepare bid documents for the construction phase of the power project Summer Intern Albario, Orient Power Plant, Balloki, Pakistan

July 2011 October 2011

Gained an in depth understanding of all the components of a Combined Cycle Power Plants e.g. Gas Turbine, Steam Turbine, Heat Recovery Systems, Generators, Condensers and other auxiliary equipment Was introduced to the DCS system at the facility which helped me understand the working of the field devices being used and appreciate the complexity of the control system that ensured the safety of the equipment Working with the operations department and was able witness and understand plant startup and stop sequences Gained invaluable experience on MAXIMO used for purchasing, inventory management, planning etc.

Business Entrepreneur AI Traders, Pakistan June 2010 August 2011 Proposed a business plan and then setup a successful trading company Have hand-on understanding of stocking, warehousing and logistics Greatly enhanced entrepreneurial, managerial and communication skills

Electronic Design Engineer Data Communication and Control, Pakistan 2007 2008 Proposed, designed and implemented custom hardware based solutions for the clients Personally involved in stages of product development starting from the initial idea, designing the product, prototyping and finally the finished product Developed an AVR microcontroller based control system for a gas generator and its associated HMI using LCD Designed a Vehicle Simulator to replicate the driving conditions, to be used for training purposes Designed a PABX system with 64 digital and 64 analog inputs and outputs Summer Intern Data Communication and Control, Pakistan Summer 2006 Designed and developed a universal data acquisition card, using PIC microcontroller, for a vehicle simulator, supporting up to 96 digital and 14 analog inputs and outputs Summer Intern Mobilink, Pakistan

Summer 2005

AC ADEMIC CREDENTIALS Certified Associate of PLC and SCADA Conducted at NUST in Collaboration with Buraq Automation

Dec 2010

2003 2007

Designed a Heliostat as my final year project. It was a closed loop system that focused solar light onto a stationary target. It positioned itself according to the suns position to achieve the desired function. The system had two degrees of freedom, and used microcontrollers to execute the solar position algorithm and adjust the mirrors accordingly.
