LITHIUM BATTERIES
Step 1 What type of Battery are you shipping?
Rechargeable batteries commonly used in consumer electronics Most popular battery for portable electronics: laptops, mobile phones, MP3, camcorders etc. A fire involving lithium ion batteries can be extinguished by an aircraft halon fire extinguisher
Not rechargeable Longer life than the normal alkaline batteries and can be used in toys, cameras, ... A fire involving lithium metal batteries can NOT be extinguished by an aircraft halon fire extinguisher

Step 3 How many Watt per hour* does your battery have?
Cell is a single powered unit. Battery is a number of cells connected to each other Normally, shipments consist of batteries, and not of cells.
*The W/h must be marked on the outside of th battery, for batteries manufactured since January 2009. But, laptops, mobile phones and other small consumer electronics have less than 100 W/h batteries (apart from perhaps some extra duration batteries for those use formula Wh = AhxV in case the Wh are not marked in the battery).
