Therapeutic Recreation is very excited to welcome Shannon, Abby, and Stacey to our group!! TR Summer Day Camps are right around the corner. We look forward to many fun filled days of swimming, pottery, music, art, pet therapy, nature lessons, sports, and field trips to Carowinds Waterpark, Dan Nicholas Park, Lazy 5 Ranch, and Discovery Place. Registration forms are available at Marion Diehl Recreation Center Lobby, 2219 Tyvola Road.

Garden 2 You Summit 4
Summit - a Parent/Caregiver Group A monthly group for parents, guardians, and caregivers that is facilitated by a Therapeutic Recreation staff person but is directed by the group members. This FREE informal group gives participants the opportunity to meet and talk with other parents and caregivers who are experiencing the challenges of parenting a child, teen or young adult with a disability. This date will be the last before summer join us for an evening of discussion and planning for the future! Sports
TR: Spirit Squad Ages 8-25 with disabilities The TR Spirit Squad is an eight week program and is partnered with Pop Warner and the Carolina Panthers. The Spirit Squad offers an opportunity for youth, teens, and young adults to participate in cheerleading and be a part of the team! Registration begins June 1, 2012 and ends August 10th, 2012. Challenger Flag Football Age 8-25 with disabilities Dont miss out on this exciting program offered in partnership by Mecklenburg County Park Recreations Therapeutic Recreation Section, the Carolina Panthers and Pop Warner Football. All children will be winners in this league where everyone gets to play and be a STAR!
Registration begins June 1, 2012 and ends August 10, 2012. No registrations will be accepted after this date. Practices and games will be held behind the Marion Diehl Recreation Center at the adaptive field starting in September 2012. Imagination
with disabilities All aboard! Spend your summer on the Discovery Train exploring yourself and the world around you. Camp will allow for curious discovery through science, art, health, music, friendships, sports, and games. Each week the Discovery Train will travel to a different childrens book setting, exploring Where the Wild Things are, Dr. Seuss, Eric Carle, and more! Imagination Station is a great opportunity to introduce children to a group recreation setting or allow for continued interaction with their peers during the summer months. Theres no doubt, kids will enjoy this camp that encourages non-stop fun and Imagination! Location: Marion Diehl Rec. World of Adventures: for youth, ages 9-10 with
disabilities Explore the world of adventures this summer! Each week we will go on a different type of adventure. Some of our adventures will include : Adventures of the Wild, Adventures of the Air, Adventures of the Sea, and more.
