The value of higher education is to make men aware of what was and what is, to incite them to probe into what might be. -Otto Keppler
The knowledge acquired in schools and colleges, I believe is not an education, but the means to it. It is this belief that makes me a student to the end of my days; the obvious direction being curiosity towards exploration. One of the memories of my childhood I deeply cherish is that of my first day in school. I distinctly remember my eyes watering as my parents bade me good-bye leaving me in an alien environment. We were made to draw pictures of familiar objects, my teacher recited rhymes in a soothing voice and by the end of the day I began to love school. I was fortunate to have begun with a good early education and as I grew, my interests and ability were inclined towards the physical nature of the universe. Science unraveled many a mystery for me; math challenged me and gave me joy. Learning itself became the key to my life. An enormous number of challenges, thrown out by rapid development in science and technology, I have always had an interest in the way things work, and since I was young, science has been one of my favorite subjects, my interest in sciences, particularly physics, has developed throughout my time at school, and I enjoy the challenge of using scientific and mathematical ideas when solving everyday problems, have made me choose engineering profession. I take this opportunity to describe my educational background and career objectives that motivated me to pursue a career in mechanical engineering. I completed my higher secondary examination scoring 86% in basic sciences. My undergraduate education has provided a thorough exposure to the various specialties available in Mechanical Engineering, thus stimulating interest in advanced research. Last year I did my final year project, leading three other students, with the PAKISTAN REFINERY LIMITED;TO INCREASE THE STORAGE CAPACITY OF EXISTING TANKS IN PRL AND TO INCREASE THE DESIGN LIFE (MTBR) TO 20 YEARS. This helped me to develop time management, problem-solving, teamwork leadership skills, as we encountered several problems along the way (mostly involving the modification and economically feasibility), as well as having to cope with each other for long hours in order to meet deadlines. In my first year of my engineering, i have designed a simple and fully mechanical system to remove a fence-post by most feasible and economical method and by not damaging the fence post, study on wind turbines and study on can crusher Are some of my projects too which I did during studies. I found this both challenging and rewarding, and achieved many certificates for competing in many ASME (American Society of Mechanical Engineers) competitions as well as being able to take part in the regional competition of the SME (Society of Manufacturing

Engineers). The project along with internship experience, which I did during my engineering studies at PRL (Pakistan Refinery Limited) AND PSO (Pakistan State Oil), gave me a useful insight into the types of problems that engineers have to solve, and convinced me that engineer should be a good manager too and all these above cited things created my interest for engineering management course. My inclination towards applied science drove me to opt for Math, Physics and Chemistry in my higher secondary education. After completing my high school, I felt that Engineering would be the area, which would give me the opportunity to learn and explore how the fundamentals of science are applied to create technology for practical and real purposes. Moreover, my innate strengths have always been creative abilities and the power of imagination; which made me to take up a discipline that would allow me to channel them in the best possible way. Thus, Mechanical engineering was a direct consequence of my convictions. Subjects like Manufacturing Process, CAD/CAM, Production Engineering, Machine Design, Industrial Engineering, Kinematics & Dynamics of Machines, Thermodynamics, Machine Control Systems Engineering, Heat and Mass transfer, Solid Mechanics, Fluid mechanics, Design of machine elements etc., revealed to me limitless horizons in the field of Mechanical Engineering. My undergraduate study was a richly rewarding experience, during which I participated in various Industrial training programs. I believe that good links between engineers and businesses are essential for an efficient and profitable future for Emirates Airline & Group. Studying Engineering Economics in my engineering studies, along with sciences and Maths, has helped me to understand some of the scientific principles behind production and management techniques. Physics has taught me about how things behave, and how these properties can be used in solving both practical and theoretical situations. Studying biology has helped me to appreciate the role that engineers can play in helping to balance industry and natural environment. Mathematics gives me the opportunity to apply familiar concepts to unfamiliar situations, and I enjoy the challenge of solving mathematical problems. I also find further Maths enjoyable, as I find it more challenging than my normal advance maths lessons. My favorite part of the course among the four parts i.e. financial management, people management, operation or project management and simulation/optimization is the operation or project management, as I enjoy learning about how different projects are to be managed; their planning, scheduling and execution. I believe that success, as an engineer in this day and age, requires technical competence and a combination of management, leadership, communication and business skills. Leadership is something that I have naturally and my school recognized this by appointing me a senior prefect, which I believe has further improved my leadership and communication skills To improve these skills, I did volunteer work during an internship of PSO (Pakistan State Oil), gathered funds and was in a team to renovate and bring that school to the new level,MANZIL SCHOOL, RETI LINE, KARACHI, to understand how charities make money. I usually visit to govt. hospitals and distribute things; among the needy; which i buy from my

pocket money .This turned out to be a very valuable experience to me. I also teach private tuitions to the students of CIE board i.e. O-LEVELS. Alongside my engineering studies at university I completed certification in some mechanical softwares like AUTOCAD, PRO-E and ANSYS, these certifications helped me with my independent study and time management skills. In future looking forward to do certification in PRIMAVERA. I like to be involved in other aspects of school life, for example I took part in the junior mock trial competition in the school. In 2009 I was selected among many students all over Pakistan for YOUNG LEADERS CONFERENCE, a six days residential seminar at Sheraton Hotels and Towers, organized by SCHOOL OF LEADERSHIP, to polish my leadership qualities and boosting up my self-confidence, to give motivational and inspirational power to trust in myself and not to give up at any stage of difficulty. Last year I was among 150 candidates who were selected from 1000 applicants of my university for Energy Awareness Week organized by SOCIETY OF PETROLEUM ENGINEERING. And attended number of seminars and workshops as part of the program. In college i was a member of science society. In university i was a member of DEVELOPERS AND INNOVATIVES, SOCIETY OF AUTOMOBILE ENGINEERS (SAE) and AMERICAN SOCIETY OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERS (A.S.M.E) and serving AMERICAN SOCIETY OF HEATING, REFRIGERATION AND AIR-CONDITIONING ENGINEERS (A.S.H.R.A.E) and SOCIETY OF PETROLEUM ENGINEERING (S.P.E) (since two years). When I have time outside my curricular and club activities, I am a very enthusiastic sportsperson. My main sporting interests are football, basketball and swimming. It would also help me to learn global standards in this field and become aware of the worldwide competition, which I consider would be a great help for me to make a strong contribution in the field of Mechanical Engineering. Your organization with its unique job opportunity result in commitment to foster intellectual excellence is remarkable and attractive to embark upon an academic career. However, Emirates Airline & Group is an ideal location for job because it allows me to integrate my facility for mechanical engineering with my; management. Moreover, Emirates Airline & Group consistently ranks as one of the top organizations all over the world.

With my deep-rooted interest in Emirates Airline & Group. I hope you will give my application every consideration. It is my hope that a experience from your organization would serve as a solid base for a successful career in engineering, where hopefully, I would be involved in the development of new and more efficient management systems. I look forward to a challenging career in aircraft industry which may even be arduous and demanding at times but I am confident that with my sincerity and dedication, I will be able to make a meaningful contribution to the
