After installation, the replacement SSB must be configured for the TV.

Note: Information from inside the TV must be obtained to configure the SSB. Failure to configure the SSB can result in the picture being severely shifted on the screen and some features not functioning.
1. Locate the Option Code label inside the TV and write down the option code numbers. If there is a SCREEN DIVERSITY code on the label, write down that number and skip step 2. If there is not a Screen Diversity code, perform step 2.

2. Determine the type of display panel that is in the TV: For LCD panels, make a note of the screen size. For Plasma (PDP) displays: a. Locate the PDP MODULE sticker on the aluminum back plate of the PDP. It is typically found in the top area of the PDP. b. Locate the PDP type number as shown below. c. Write down the type number.

3. With the remote control that came with the TV, enter the Service Alignment Mode (SAM) by pressing the following key sequence: 062596 Info. Press the red button to bypass the warning message. 4. In the SAM main menu select OPTIONS and then select DISPLAY.

5. Select SCREEN then cursor right to highlight the screen type number.

6. If there is no Screen Diversity code on the Option Code label, use the charts below to select the 3-digit code for the display type.

7. Use the number keys on the remote control to enter the correct Screen Diversity code. Note: Do not cursor up or down to enter the code. 8. Cursor back to the SAM main menu and select STORE. Cursor right then press OK to store the changes. STORE COMPLETE or a similar message should be displayed. Turn the FTV off then back on to activate the changes.

Note: If the wrong Screen Diversity code was entered resulting in no display, enter 062598 Menu followed by the correct Screen Diversity code. The FTV should turn off indicating that the code is accepted. Turn the FTV on and confirm that there is a display. 9. Re-enter SAM and select OPTIONS, then select OPTION NUMBERS. Set the Group 1 and Group 2 numbers to the same values as on the Option Code label inside the FTV. OK must be pressed while the cursor is on the option numbers to load the changes.

10. STORE the changes as described in step 8. SSB configuration is complete.
