Dear Parents or Students,

Thank you for your interest in the June Holiday Revision Programme for Economics. For J2 students, the June Holiday Revision Programme would be the first phase of the revision preparation for the A level examination which focuses on ensuring that all students will attain a sound foundation of the understanding of the knowledge for their studies and the necessary skills of application of the knowledge for the required examination. All students will approximately study through 30 essay questions and 8 case studies which will build a strong foundation for the final examination. This will be followed by the second phase of preparation from July to September whereby the focus of the revision would be on the comprehension of complex and integrated questions which will prepare the students for the prelim examination. Lastly, there will be the final preparation which will prepare the students on comprehending the A level type of questions. For J1 students, the June Holiday Revision Programme would be focusing on the reteaching of the contents of the chapters that the students have learnt. It would also help them to prepare for the upcoming mid-year examination by inculcating in them the necessary skills on how to answer essay and CSQ questions. Most of all, this workshop will aim to imbue in students the interest in economics and the methodology in studying this new subject. Simon @ 96890510 Email: simon@economicsfocus.com.sg Page 2 of 8 Aims of the June Revision Programme The workshop aims to prepare the students for the upcoming mid-year examination with the focus on developing the students' understanding of the concepts for the selected topics of teachings and the necessary skills to comprehend Case Study Question, Data Response Question and essay writings. Methodology of Teachings The focus of the Programme is to inculcate in students the knowledge of the topic and imbue in them with the essential skills of application of the knowledge to excel in examination. During lessons, there will be re-teaching of the main concepts of the respective chapters with quick notes on a whole list of definitions, concept explanations and main areas of application of knowledge for revision. CSQ and essay discussions are also conducted with given outlines and quick notes to educate students on how to extract and apply the information to develop effective arguments. Class practices on essay and CSQ questions and a mock test will be given to assess the students to ensure that students are well prepared for the mid-year examination.
