REMARKS

Ascertain the alignment of fan,coupling,motor and internal clearances with Dial guage and feeler gauge. Calibration of instruments - calibration certificate Trial run of lub oil motor and proper functioning of all instruments. Flushing of lub oil lines bypassing main bearing and servomotor. Flushing of oil through main bearings. Correct level and grade of oil in the lub oil unit. Free rotation of shaft. No foreign material inside the fan area. Ensure identical opening and closing of the blades in both impellers. At blades full close position, ensure that the blades have atleast the minimum gap between the blades. Functioning of local indicators and interlocks - Annexure-1 Setting of blades (inlet guide vanes) control actuator with local and UCB position. Trial run the fan and record the following : Annexure_2. REMARKS

Completeness of fan assembly including mounting of instruments and inside and outside cleaning. The bases of fan parts are tightned without strain. Tightness of all foundation bolts of fan and motor. Tightness of connecting bolts of bearing housing and impeller housing Verticality of impeller housing/horizontality of shaft within 0.04mm/m. Proper clearance and gap at free suppoerts. The blades of the impeller are of the same series, also ensure that the blades are mounted in the serial order and that the rounded nose of the blades are on the suction side of each impeller. Tightness of blade fixing serews to the required torque valves. Radial clearance of the blade tip with respect to the lorgest blade. Radial clearance of blade root and impeller hub for both full open and full close position of blades. Axial gap between rotor and stator parts. Provision of locating pins and machined washers at parting planes of impeller housing. Match marks on the coupling parts. Tightness of coupling bolts of rigiflex coupling. Correct setting of coupling gap. Alignment of coupling to be Free movement of hinge heads. Correct assembly of links. Acid cleaning of all incoming and outgoing oil pipes. The Oil tanks is adequately filled with correct quality of oil (Oil specification) Early commissioning of oil system to facilitate checks on the impeller. Proper connection of inlet and outlet of lub oil piping to the main bearing. Proper connection of oil pipes to the oil head assembly. Provision of an orifice in the control oil outlet line (orifice size There is no preload in the oil head assembly introduced by flexible hoses. The servomotor stroke length is maintained as per the drawing and mechanically stopped. The independent operation timing of actuator from 0 to 100% and vice-versa is more than the servomotor timing (full close to full open and vice versa). Linearity of blades position w.r.t. local/control room indication. Proper setting of mechanical stoppers. Rotate rotor by hand and ensure free rotation without any mechanical rubbing. No foreign material is left inside the casing. No loose pieces are found in the suction side ducting of the fan. )

Pre-cautions laid down by motor/oil system suppliers are complied with. Start lub oil pump and allow it to run for about two hours. Clean filters, check levell in the tank. Ensure proper oil flow. Check the pressures and setting of relief valve. Check for any oil leakage. Check proper functioning of "switch". Check Direction of rotation of motor. Check the suitability of EPB location. STARTING OF THE FAN Ensure that all protections and interlocks are functioning properly. Start the motor check for the correct direction of rotation of motor. This motor/fan should rotate in anti-clockwise direction while viewing from motor. Test run the motor for 8 hrs. If found satisfactory, couple fan with motor. Start the lub oil pump. Adjust the control oil pr. to 8.0 to 12.0 bar and lub oil pr. to 0.8 to 1.2 bar. Operate the impeller blade to minimum position. Keep the delivery damper in full close position. Start the fan and note the starting time. Ensure that the discharge damper opens fully after the fan has accelerated to full speed. Measure static pressure at fan discharge with blades in minimum position. Ensure at least +20 mmwc. If not, readjust minimum blade setting for this value.

REMARK

Measure the vibration and temperature of the bearing. Record vibration and bearing temp every 15 min for first half an hour of run and every hour till trial run completion. Check for any abnormal noise in the fan. Check and record the motor current, voltage and blade opening posistion annexure. Test run for 8 hrs. Check during the normal operation of the fan : During continuous operation of the fan the "Operational parameter" should be logged. Following additional information is to be logged at the fixed convenient intervals. Vibration level Oil level in the tank Leakage in lub oil & control oil line Differential pr. indicator of oil filter.
