About 25% of jobs in Britain are linked to business overseas. Its the sixth largest exporter of goods in the world and the second largest exporter of services. Export are equivalent to about 19% of the GDP. A large part of the UKs trade in goods and services is with other EU members. Britains biggest overseas markets are the USA and Germany. About 77% of British countryside is farmland, 25% of the farmland is used for growing crops and the rest for sheep and cattle. Farming is now intensive, highly mechanized, and efficient, producing about 64% of food needs with only 1.4% of labour force. The agricultural contribution to the GDP is about 1% of the total. Dairy farming is found in the western half of Britain and provides milk for the over 400 types of cheese of Britain. The UK is one of the Europes leading fishing countries. Sea fishing provides about 70% of domestic need. Fish farming is expanding with salmon, trout and shellfish. Britain has more energy resources. 10% of GDP. Coal was Britains traditional source of energy but in the recent years, coal has became less important in the British economy. Nuclear power provided about one third of the electricity produced. Britain is an important manufacturing country despite in the last years industry has declined in importance, the main industries in the UK are: machine tools, industrial equipment, scientific equipment, computers The UK tertiary sector account about 72% of the GDP and 79% of employment, the service industries include tourism, business services, transport, insurance.. The UK is a constitutional monarchy and a parliamentary democracy. The parliament is bicameral, with an elected house of commons and a non-elected house of lords. The three main party are the conservative party, the labour party and the liberal democrats party. The UK doesnt have a written constitution but there are a series of rules contained in common laws, statute laws and conventions. Important constitutional documents that exist at present are magna charta, the bill of rights, reform acts, the human rights act.

The USA has a largely market economy with a GDP of 13 trillion. Manufactured products dominate the export of the USA. These include industrial and electrical machinery , vehicles, chemicals, television.. the country leading trading partner is the Canada. The USA is the worlds top producer of gold, iron ore, coal, zinc, phosphate and molybdenum. USA Is the third producer of petroleum, refined into gasoline, heating oil and petrochemicals used to make another products. The country is a large producer of natural gas and crude oil. Water is used to generate electricity and for irrigation on farms. Manufacturing industry was very important in the USA and since the 1960 has declined in importance. Many manufacturing facilities have relocated in the south. In the west the industry in California has grown phenomenally, high technology research and production facilities have developed in the silicon valley of California. 78.5% of the US workforce is employed in service industries, services include finance, banking and insurance and tourism that is the largest service industries. USA is the largest producer of corn and soya beans, major farming regions include Corn Belt in south and west of the great lakes, the wheat belt lies west of the corn belt and the cotton belt in the south from south Carolina to Texas. California is the major wine producer in the nation. Forests cover 33% of the united states , its especially important in the northwest of the USA. The country is leader in lumber production. Alaska is the most important state for fishing, in particular salmon fishing. Lobsters, scallops, oysters are caught in the New England. The USA is a federal republic, the government is divided into three separate groups federal, state , local Government. There is a competitive two-party system. Lobbying is an attempt to persuade a government to change a particular law or do a particular thing. Italy is a parliamentary republic. The parliament is divided into two house.
