celebrated? The World Heart Federation created World Heart Day and it was first celebrated on 24 September 2000. What is the date for World Heart Day 2010? World Heart Day is organized worldwide on the last Sunday of September every year. This year World Heart Day will be celebrated on 26 September 2010. Who organizes World Heart Day? The World Heart Federation develops the World Heart Day Campaign material and toolkit, which is is then disseminated to World Heart Federation members globally who use the resources to implement local activities. Non-member organizations can get involved by either linking up with member organizations based in their country or by ordering material (posters/leaflets) through the World Heart Federation. They can also access resources through the website. Why was workplace wellness chosen as a World Heart Day theme? The theme for this years World Heart Day is workplace wellness. As most of us spend over half our waking hours working, the workplace is ideal to promote heart-healthy messages and raise awareness about the risk factors for heart disease and stroke. A heart-healthy workplace encourages a healthy diet, physical activity and a smoke-free environment. What activity is taking place for World Heart Day in my country?
