uasar Entry

To create a new ConfIguratIon In uasar Entry:

1. Dpen up Quasar Entry and select the confIguratIon optIon from the
operatIon combo box.
2. Enter a SerIal Number In the SN box.
3. Now Select a ConfIguratIon from the ConfIgure box

4. When you have selected a confIguratIon the form wIll automatIcally
enter a scannIng mode.
ThIs allows a user to scan In all the serIal numbers and Items In
any order wIthout been besIde the pc.
5. The user can now go to the unIt and scan In an Item and It's serIal
number. The Item and the serIal number can be In any order.

6. Dnce the scannIng Is complete clIck on the Stop Scan button and the
form wIll then revert to Its normal state as shown below.
7. The data wIll also be sorted so that any blank sn_component boxes wIll
appear at the top of the form.
All serIal numbers must be entered unless set to N/A In the
PedIgree ConfIguratIon In Quasar FeportIng and the sortIng allows
for ease of IdentIfIcatIon of these empty boxes.

8. The next step Is to fIll these boxes by eIther manually enterIng the
detaIls or by returnIng to scan mode and scannIng In the detaIls.
9. To enter more than 1 datecode separate the datecodes by placIng a "/"
between them. E.g. 0ATECD0E1/0ATECD0E2/0ATECD0EJ

10. Now select save when all detaIls have been entered.
11. Should you have mIssed a message wIll appear as show below.

12. Dnce all the Items have been fIlled - clIck the save button and the text
"Update successfully completed" should appear In the status bar at the
bottom of the wIndow (see below).

CreatIng Loops - PepIacIng a sub-assembIy
1. Enter your SerIal Number Into the SN box and clIck on the fInd button.
All the detaIls for that SerIal number wIll now appear, as below.

2. Next enter scannIng mode by clIckIng on the Scan button. Scan In your
new subassembly.
J. The applIcatIon wIll recognIse that thIs Item Is already present In the
bom structure and wIll ask you If you want to replace It (as below). ClIck
on "DK"

5. The message box wIll close and If you scroll down through the data you
wIll see that another entry has been created. (See 8elow)
6. ThIs new entry wIll have a loop value greater than the prevIous entry.

7. When you clIck on save the orIgInal entry wIll dIsappear when vIewIng
the bom.

8. To vIew the prevIous loops - just doubleclIck on the Item and a new
wIndow wIll open contaInIng the detaIls of all loops(replacements) for
that Item.
