*K-2 (Primary) Station Descriptions*

Station #1: Parachute Fun Equipment: 1 Parachutes, 3 balls Station Manager: Mrs. Chotoo Gather the class around the parachute. Refer to the parachute games sheet to run the station.

Station #2: Olympic Rings Equipment: Hula Hoops Station Manger: Mrs. Alvarez Students will be divided into two teams. Each team will join hands and attempt to get the five rings down the line without separating hands. To change up the game, change up the teams.

Station #3: Country Flag Craft /Treat* Equipment: Crayons, Country Flags for Each Class, Paper, Straws Station Manger: Mrs. Pugner, Mrs. Dailey Each class has their designated country. Their craft will be to create their countries flag. Show the class a picture of what the flag looks like. Give each student a copy of the flag. Have them color it and then attach it to a straw. Put their names on the back. The class helper will take their flags back to their classroom. The classes that have this station in the morning will only do the art project because they will get ritas during their lunch time. In the afternoon, station managers will serve ritas to the children.

Station #4: Water Ball Toss Equipment: Absorbent Water Balls Station Mangers: Ms. Castro, Ms. Housy Students will get a couple of steps away from each other. Each time they catch the ball, students will take a step back. If they drop the ball, they have to move a step in. Every five throws, students will get the option of dipping it in the bucket of water. Only allow them to dip the ball for a couple seconds before returning to their throwing position.

Station #5: Olympic Rowing Equipment: 4 scooters, 4 paddles Station Manger: Mr. SIngleton Students will get into their four P.E. teams (Blue, Green, Red, Black) behind the four scooters. Beside the scooters will be a plunger. One at a time, students will get on the scooter, sit crisscross, and use the plunger to push themselves to the end of the playing area. The first team with all kids finished wins. After a couple of games, connect two scooters together and have two kids row at a time.

Station #6: Sponge Race Equipment: 1 large bucket, water, 2 sponges, 2 smaller buckets Station Manager: Mr. Marner, Mr. Warner Divide them into their two teams. Dip sponge in the large bucket and pass it quickly overhead to the end of the line. Squeeze the remaining water into the small bucket at the end. The last person in line then carries the sponge back to the front and begins again.

Station #7: Olympic Fencing Equipment: Noodles Station Manger: Ms. Coleman Students will be in pairs. Each group will get one noodle. One group will challenge another group to a fencing

match. Two students stand apart from each other while the other two act as judges. The first to touch the other person with the noodle gets a point. Then the other two people in the group fence against one another. The first team that gets to ten points wins the match. Have each pair challenge other groups.

Station #8: Water/ Shot Put Equipment: Softballs Station Manager: Mrs. Fernando, Mrs. Roberts-Jones Take the students inside to the directed water fountain to get water and air condition. Once everyone has gotten water, take them back outside and pair them up. Show them how to throw the shot put and explain to them that this event is held in the Olympics. We are going to see who is the best shot putter. Put the students in pairs and have them practice shot putting. Then, line them up on one line and have them take turns shot putting the ball.

Station #9: Perfect Ten (Olympic Balance Beam Walk) Equipment: Balance Beams, Bean Bags Station Manager: Mrs. Waddell Students will walk in different ways down the balance beam. They will add a bean bag to make it more challenging, and then do partner balances.

Station #10:100 Meter T-Shirt Relay Equipment: 1 large bucket of water, 1 dry bucket, 4 tee-shirts Station Manager: Mr. Thomas, Mr. Wynn Have a bucket of water with 4 tee-shirts in it. Also have a bucket with 4 dry tee-shirts in it. Let the students know they have a choice of choosing the dry or wet t-shirts to do the relay. Player #1 runs to the either bucket puts on the T-shirt and returns to the next player. Player #1 takes off the shirt and passes it to #2. If player 2 wants the other type of tee-shirt (wet or dry) have them run to the bucket and get the other teeshirt.

Station #11: Water Station/Discus Throw Equipment: Frisbees Station Manager: Mrs. Boquel Take the students to get water. Once back from the water fountain, each pair will get a Frisbee. Teach them how to discus throw (put the Frisbee in between their arm and wrist, twirl around, and throw). Give each pair a chance to practice throwing for a few minutes. At the end have a competition to see who can throw the furthest.

Station #12: Yoga Fun Station Manager: Mrs. Epps-Smith Equipment: Yoga DVD Students will engage in Yoga activities through pictures or video representation.

*3-5 (Intermediate) Station Descriptions*

Station #13: Country Flag Craft /Treat* Equipment: Crayons, Country Flags for Each Class, Paper, Straws Station Manager: Mrs. Woda, Mrs. Nelson Each class has their designated country. Their craft will be to create their countries flag. Show the class a picture of what the flag looks like and have them draw it on the piece of white paper. They will then attach their flag to a straw and put their names on the back. The class helper will take their flags back to their classroom. The classes that have this station in the morning will only do the art project because they will get ritas during their lunch time. In the afternoon, station managers will serve ritas to the children.

Station #14: Water/ Olympic Rings Equipment: Hula Hoops Station Manager: Mrs. Curtis Take the students inside to the directed water fountain to get water and air condition. Once everyone has gotten water, take them back outside. Students will be divided into two teams. Each team will join hands and attempt to get the five rings down the line without separating hands. To change up the game, change up the teams.

Station #15: Torch Relay Equipment: 1 bucket, water, 2 sponges on sticks, 2 smaller buckets Station Managers: Mrs. Greene Divide them into two teams. Each team has a stick with a sponge on the top (torch). They must dip the sponge in the water, run to the other side, squeeze the sponge into the smaller bucket, and then run back to their team. Repeat.

Station #17: 100 Meter T-Shirt Relay Equipment: 1 large bucket of water, 1 dry bucket, 8 tee-shirts Station Manager: Mr. Janifer Have a bucket of water with 4 tee-shirts in it. Also have a bucket with 4 dry tee-shirts in it. Let the students know they have a choice of choosing the dry or wet t-shirts to do the relay. Player #1 runs to the either bucket puts on the T-shirt and returns to the next player. Player #1 takes off the shirt and passes it to #2. If player 2 wants the other type of tee-shirt (wet or dry) have them run to the bucket and get the other teeshirt.

Station #18: Water/Frisbee Equipment: Frisbees Station Managers: Mrs. Bangura Take the students inside to the directed water fountain to get water and air condition. Once everyone has gotten water, take them back outside. Students will get into groups and practice their Frisbee throwing. Then, if they would like, students can play keep away with the Frisbee.

Station #19: Sponge Race Equipment: 1 large bucket, water, 2 sponges, 2 smaller buckets Station Manager: Mrs. Dudley, Miss Harris Divide them into two teams. Dip sponge in the large bucket and pass it overhead to the end of the line. Squeeze the remaining water into the small bucket at the end. The last person in line then carries the sponge back to the front and begins again.

Station #20: Parachute Balloon Bomb Equipment: Parachute, Water Balloons Station Managers: Mr. Gagnon, Mr. Nevils Upon getting to the station, give each kid a number. The numbers corresponds with the numbers on the water balloons. Place the water balloons on the parachute. The students shake the parachute. The last balloon that remains on the parachute is given to the student with the same number (winner). For the rest of the time, the students can rest in the shade.

Station #21: Water Balloon Toss Equipment: Water balloons Station Mangers: Mr. Cooney, Mr. Briscoe Instruct kids to get into pairs. There can be three to a group if needed. Start them about four feet away from each other. Each time they successfully catch it; one person takes a step back. If the balloon is dropped and broken, the pair of students will sit and wait until the last group is done.

Station #22: Water/ Jump Roping Equipment: Long Ropes & Short Ropes, Water cooler, cups, trash can Station Managers: Mrs. Forcey Allow the students to get water from the water cooler. Once everyone has gotten water, allow them to Jump Rope using the long and short ropes, and jump bands

Station #23: Olympic Fencing Equipment: Noodles Station Managers: Mrs. Hockenberry Students will be in pairs. Each group will get one noodle. One group will challenge another group to a fencing match. Two students stand apart from each other while the other two act as judges. The first to touch the other person with the noodle gets a point. Then the other two people in the group fence against one another. The first team that gets to ten points wins the match. Have each pair challenge other groups.

Station #24: Olympic Volleyball Equipment: 1 beach ball, Volleyball Nets Station Manager: Mrs. Arietta, Mrs. Smith Organize the students into their four P.E. teams and instruct two to stand on one side and two on the other. Students will volley the ball over the net to other team. Whichever quadrant the ball hits the ground in, that

team gets a point. Team with the least amount of points wins.
